I like that but I don't know if at the end of the day I totally understand some of this rolling experimental electronic misfit club music. Stuff like that, part of me is like, when does the beat drop? I know how cliche that is but like, there's no reason for their not to be a beat! It's beautiful melodic techno. Throw in a kick drum for us. I see the promo calls it "DJ tools" but that's what B-sides are for.

Billy Gomberg makes music that might appeal to people who like Microstoria, En, Fennesz, Nuno Canavarro, et al. It's unhinged and thick with atmosphere, drifting and droning--aural latticeworks, with unusual textures, marked depth, and odd sound events. It's also calm (at times) and meditative. His more recent work sounds darker (tonally), with add'l acoustic elements coloring the fray.
