i did see this humorous transcription of Two Chainz's verse on Rick Ross's "Fuck Em":

"I'm chain smokin loud

I've got a Japanese edition of R.E.M.'s Monster with a lyric insert included - of course, as with all R.E.M. albums before 1998, the UK/US edition didn't include the lyrics, so someone clearly was hired to write down what they thought was being sung. Stipe's lyrics are hard to make out in general, particularly when you consider that Monster's production is quite murky in places, so of course the lyrics printed in the book are completely wrong!

Here's an excerpt from 'Circus Envy':

"She Belongs to Me": for at least a couple of decades I used to sing "For Halloween buy her a trumpet/And for Christmas, get her a bit drunk." As is often the case with these things, I like my lyric better.

When I was a kid listening to Exposé's 'When I Looked at Him', I used to hear 'when I looked at him with love eternally' as 'when I looked at him with love, he turned to leave'.

I heard Rod Stewart's "Young Turks" the other day for the first time in ages, and remembered that when I was young and it was first a hit I thought the lyrics in the second verse was "life is so brief, and Tommy's a thief when you're undecided." I was like, "This song is about Billy and Patty, who the heck is Tommy?"

Until last year I thought the chorus of Dancing Queen was "You can dance / You can die / Having the time of your life."

I am one of the many who initially heard "Come along, you Starbucks lovers" in the chorus of Taylor Swift's "Black Space" (...even tho I knew that couldn't really be the line).

I can certainly conceive of Taylor Swift singing that line.

I’ve referenced Google’s version of a lot of song lyrics lately (simply because they appear immediately, at the top of the search results) — and I think I’ve always found at least one glaring mistake.

i always thought the Sundays lyiric was "the finest hour i've ever known/ was finding a pal in the underground" but it seems it's "finding a pound on the Underground" which is admittedly better
