U2, obviously!
I like a bunch of '90s Britpop albums that i think are pretty unloved, like Echobelly, Charlatans, Supergrass.
lots of other artists i love i just don't think enough people are aware of and i don't really try to talk about much on here (Helen Merrill is probably the most notable, at least for my taste.)

I really liked the Kentucky-based band Sleeper Agent (their first album in particular), but looks like they’ve only been mentioned once in here, in passing. I rarely saw them noticed/reviewed in the music press, either – and they were on RCA. I just happened to see their first video when it was getting some airplay.

Re: Joseph Arthur
i only know his 'the the vs merz' styled debut, 'big city secrets' : but its a bloody wonderful album.not followed anything else since as i was under the impression that sonically things became a lot less interesting.happy to be proved wrong.― mark e
Big City Secrets does have a sound of its own, mostly thanks to the production, and I often wondered if this is perhaps mostly attributed to Real World/people other than Joseph Arthur himself. He performs several songs from that album live every now and then, most live versions sound quite different from the album versions.I love that debut too, but you might be disappointed if you're looking for a similar sound in his later work. That's not to say that he got less interesting sonically, as he's experimented a lot and he's always done a lot with layered loops. This is especially a treat live, when he gets his music together with enough loops so he can swap his guitar for a paintbrush and will paint while singing.
For a very versatile, interesting and in my opinion totally amazing record, I'd recommend 'Redemption City'. (It was released on vinyl and digital format only, but especially the digital album should still be easy to get via his webstore.)

this is easily one of my top ten or top twenty favorite rock albums of the '90s (non-metal division) and i have never met anyone who liked it as much as me. i've played my crappy CD copy year in and year out since 1991. i'm sure there are people who like it, but i've never heard anyone talk about it in any rave review critical way. maybe there was an issue of Mojo where they gave it its due. i think its a work of art as an album experience.
