rolling emo/pop-punk/embarrassing music 2018

I just listened to their whole album and really enjoyed it.

Everything in this thread is absolutely beautiful. Have been loving the Tiny Moving Parts, Closer, Jeff Rosenstock, Runaway Brother (who I'd never heard of before, so thank you Evan R), Senses Fail...all of it!

This is a really richly produced sort of emogaze by 'Snape', who don't seem to have released much else before this. The whole thing sounds great, but try track 5 for something instantly loveable.

Emo is sometimes a hard sell for me but pretty much every Snape track has me saying things like 'whoa, this is great!' or 'this sounds like Adam & Eve-era Catherine Wheel!' so yeah

the Dashboard Album is not good.

lol i like it. particularly "About Us" and the single ("Heart Beat Here"). a couple other tracks already growing on me.

Black Foxxes is out today - I've loved all the advance tracks so I'm exxpecting great things

the black foxxes record is so good. "the big wild" is such a rich and varied song

The second single off the new Wonder Years is much nicer than the first!

yeah it's pretty good! I wish the mix breathed more though (this was my complaint about the last couple as well, sigh)

I know what you mean - I think that's definitely something that holds them back... Still, excited for the album a bit more now

i am extremely excited for the new underoath record even though the new songs are apparently really pissing off their fans lol. "on my teeth" reminds me of shining more than any previous underoath song, "rapture" sounds like something i'd hear in between three days grace and papa roach on the radio but it's still... real good imo

new Wonder Years is a disappointment; the attempts to broaden their sound with keys and post-punk drums just flattens everything and the specificity is almost completely gone

it's just over the course of their last... idk, 2-3 records they've just really proven themselves incapable of realizing any potential they might've had. i thought they were maybe going somewhere interesting on no closer to heaven but half of that record was just really poorly executed versions of their usual thing

all of their attempts to expand their sound feel really empty bc there's nothing in the songwriting to back it up

anyway i love the new sellout underoath record
