somehow i missed that whole thread but reading it now i feel the opposite, i like it more

i was kinda kidding lol

anyway, I like Mask Off, but I always thought the part where Future keeps rapping in the original flow when the drums drop out was a bit weird

What makes this song resonate for me above a million other similar bits of luxury braggardry is the line "These expensive/these is red bottoms/these is bloody shoes," which is not only catchy but lays bare the violence of capitalism in a way I haven't heard in other songs. The louboutins are literally "bloody" -- she acknowledge that she has stepped on and crushed others to get where she is. This line works not only on that sort of personal ruthless, status climber level but also describes the "blood" of the sweatshop labor that went into making her luxury item:

"Red" is even more appropriate here being not only associated with blood but with labor. At the end of the day she openly admits to identifying with being a "boss" and that "worker(s)" are contemptible. And being a boss means she makes "bloody moves," i.e. she acknowledges that being a capitalist inherently requires violence. Moreover, she doesn't have to *dance* (sell her labor) because she "makes money move" (freely moves capital across borders).

Love Galore is one of those tracks that always makes top 10s/20s but never ever tops a poll or a ballot (like cranes in the sky from last year), it ain't #1

I like this song, didn't actually realise it was Paramore. I remember when people were first saying that they'd gone pop I was really disappointed b/c it didn't feel like they'd gone *full pop*. This is full pop.
