gutted i missed bicep in december due to the rainbow shutting down

nxd, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:11 (eight years ago)

bicep another one that's elevated almost incalculably by the video

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:12 (eight years ago)

The Slowdive song was underwhelming for me (imago basically OTM) but the remix is something else. The Alvvays song was better post-shoegaze/dream-pop/w/e imo, though the album made my teeth hurt a little.

No purposes. Sounds. (Sund4r), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:14 (eight years ago)

OK, I just got weirdly emotional at the rave memories in the Bicep video so I'm obviously just having a very overemotional day. 'Aura' is still better (this is good too).

emil.y, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:14 (eight years ago)

yeah i prefer "aura" but i'm not mad at "glue" or anything, it does a lot with v little

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:15 (eight years ago)

for all my small complaints this is easily my favorite 77 that I can recall

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:15 (eight years ago)

remix of "sugar for the pill" is so, so, so wonderful upon revisit that now i wish i had voted for it even though it's sufficiently high

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:16 (eight years ago)

the video to this really is a great match to the music

Dan S, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:16 (eight years ago)

I'm inclined to feel the same way. By some distance, too.

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:17 (eight years ago)

even if the #1 ends up a massive anticlimax (which is more likely than not tbh)

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:18 (eight years ago)

Yes (and yes)

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:19 (eight years ago)

yeah it's been a really great list, looking forward to the top 10 being entirely kendrick and sza though! (actually not sure multiple tracks from either will place at this point)

hoping for akanamali as #1 though that's unlikely

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:19 (eight years ago)

these is ballot polls

#TeamHailing (imago), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:19 (eight years ago)

yeah I'm revising my original guess to only 1 sza track

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:19 (eight years ago)

eh this song's pretty annoying tbh, if you ask me they should melt bicep down for glue

faust apes (NickB), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:20 (eight years ago)

got 'em

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:20 (eight years ago)

here's hoping for some shockers :)

nxd, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:21 (eight years ago)

"akanamali" getting this high is astonishing

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:21 (eight years ago)

it's cool that 'hailing drums' made the ilx top 12

OMGGGGG

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:22 (eight years ago)

Not even top 10?! ILM you make me proud

♫ very clever with maracas.jpg ♫ (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:22 (eight years ago)

Can't imagine putting this Kesha anywhere near a top 20, but it is ILM and at least we don't get Arcade Fire.

Oh, this is Black Madonna. This track did jump out for me sometimes from the electronic music playlist. It was more of the type of thing I enjoyed while it was playing without it ever registering really strongly with me.

Underwhelmed with the Slowdive.

Salt Lake City Motorcycle Accident Nerve Damage Lawyer (_Rudipherous_), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:23 (eight years ago)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:23 (eight years ago)

no offense to Cardi fans but I'm just so over this track

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:23 (eight years ago)

i was thinking this would surely have to show up soon enough, kinda surprised it got this high but there's been so little consensus this year

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:24 (eight years ago)

slowdive song is all about the avalon emerson remix. again

yea. original is kind of dull imo

marcos, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:24 (eight years ago)

Charly Bliss song is fun enough. In the 90s, I would have probably scorned it as too sugary/fluffy but one takes what one can get in this brave new world.

brb gonna page deej

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:24 (eight years ago)

it's still a coldplay song with a nice bass drop :P

marcos, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:25 (eight years ago)

damn cardi b placed appropriately. wonderful

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:25 (eight years ago)

it was cool that bodak yellow was a #1 hit but it feels so by the numbers it's hard to get too excited about

ufo, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:25 (eight years ago)

Bodak Yellow is:

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:26 (eight years ago)

actually, links to appropriate threads for these songs is a good idea. brb.

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:26 (eight years ago)

it was the response to that thread that made me think it could actually win this thing!

Dan S, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:27 (eight years ago)

there's a Slowdive remix? original is kind of beautiful imo. first place vote = me.

geoffreyess, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:27 (eight years ago)

feeling v good about my CRJ #1 prediction tbh

Simon H., Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:28 (eight years ago)

so T-Shirt is going to beat this huh

rob, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:29 (eight years ago)

I like the original Sugar For The Pill just fine, but the Avalon Emerson treatment is phenomenal and otherworldly. (I voted for neither, but would've voted for 'Gilded Escalation' if I had.)

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:29 (eight years ago)

voted very unstrategically this year and now getting sadly hopeful that Akanamali is going to win

rob, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:30 (eight years ago)

Oh, Charly Bliss's "Percolator" is pretty cool. I could have used a catchy uptempo pop-rock album last year; listening with interest.

No purposes. Sounds. (Sund4r), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:30 (eight years ago)

"T-Shirt" would be the funniest possible 78 imo

This elicited mirthless laughter from me. Too relatable.

T-SHIRT SONG OF THE YEAR

gr8080, Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:31 (eight years ago)

if my ballot has anything to do with what's no. 1 then it's not crj or charli (but tbh i almost never have anything to do with what's no. 1)

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Thursday, 25 January 2018 16:31 (eight years ago)

Album is all killer, no filler. You'll be pleased imo.
