Richard Dawson's one of these folks I like the idea of in theory, but the reality is such a chore.

my first vote to place. my little brother has been finding his own taste lately and playboi carti is something we agree on. watching his enthusiasm as he drunkenly danced around the kitchen rapping along to this was a v charming 2017 moment

I didn't have a Dawsony year last year so no votes from me, but figured the LJ team would make the album do well - glad to see a track place as well.

I find Red Velvet a bit too normal and cloying for my tastes, but then I think I've got it in my head that "I don't like Red Velvet" because I hated 'Ice Cream Cake'. I'd probably dance to this out, tbh.

i hardly ever sit and listen to his records for some reason, but go and see richard dawson live if you ever get the chance, seriously he's a really funny, engaging and -at times- astonishing performer

dawson was completely impenetrable to me until i heard 'ogre' which was so much more pop than anything i'd heard from him before and immediately loved it

i don't see dawson as being too removed from joanna newsom etc. but i guess the guitar sound can be pretty offputting

the mondo grosso album is definitely worth checking out for anyone who likes labyrinth

I like Spirit much more, this didn't really click for me until I heard it in context of the album

This song is just perfect.Not holding my breath for Spirit though.

He's just really funny and knows how to deliver a line to perfection.

Never seen such a skinny man in a big puffa jacket.

I also voted for Spirit instead, though it was a tough call. Results have been odd this year imo, so who knows

one thing i love about Did You See is the way the main riff is constantly shifting around.

xps i definitely recommend checking out Mondo Grosso's album from last year 何度でも新しく生まれる (Reborn Again and Always Starting New) if you like Labyrinth though it's a bit more varied in sound (but not mood) than you might expect

Really wish I'd voted for the Mondo Grosso song. I only heard it for the first time a couple of days before voting closed. If I'd had more time with it, it would have definitely made my list.

It was one of the ten most streamed tracks on UK Spotify and I guess blew up in a few other countries as well.
