was disappointed with the Bicep album when it first came out, but it really grew on me over time and I ended up voting for both Aura and Glue

nothing will beat 'Just' for me

Aura steps right to the edge of hands in the air corny in a way that's kind of perfect. left it off my track list and kept the album, but man is it great.

and yeah, Just is perfect.

One of the kpop tracks I didn't vote for, not because I don't like it, just hadn't listened to it enough. I've barely kept up with the various Loona constellations the last year, but enough to get that they've been weaving an interesting web of sounds and looks.

Got halfway through the Destroyer and wondering how anyone could possibly vote that level of limp pastiche as their #1.

Lissvik has really let himself go. I can't believe I turned off L'Rain to listen to that.

Is the whole L'Rain album in this vein? Because this is astonishing.

also, as someone recently pointed out on the thread, "atejle" is swedish for "studio", from the same etymology as "atelier"

On one hand this is very light and bouncy and "west coast," but on the other hand it sounds like a mid-90s Blur album cut.

Tinseltown is one of the good songs on one of the year's most disappointing records.
I must protest, dunno where ILM got the idea that there's anything disappointing about that record, it's as good as most Destroyer records, that is, it's not as good as Rubies or Kaputt or Nighthawk, but it's pretty damn good!

I should've voted for 'Zephyr' over '50/50' really - the former is as good as his stuff from ten years ago if you prefer his long instrumental meanders.

Pretty much all mainstream pop is mastered like that now and TBF Dua Lipa has a good enough voice that she'd probably benefit from a lot more space in her records.

Meant to vote for Atelje but did tracks ballot in a rush and forgot (same for Oktoberklubben although don't imagine that will place).

Great track and as mentioned the most Studio thing he's done in years.

i voted for 'zephyr' instead. also voted for oktoberklubben, but i'm guessing i'm the only one

The brightness of the production does that Lissvik record no favours at all, particularly the vocals - part of the whole appeal of West Coast was the *haze*, this just feels like its sitting there in the unforgiving bright lights.

I liked the Atelje album from a year or two back, but this is pretty weak
kinda want to punch this guy for singing "ring the alarm" :/
