This isn't really a horrible album title I just like the idea of a guy in a leather jacket living in a cave somewhere with his guitar and amps and spare set of sneakers with a calendar on the wall to tell him when he must next descend the mountain to bring rock and roll to the distrustful villagers, also Malcolm Tomlinson is such an un-rock 'n' roll name.

Malcolm Tomlinson, "Rock and Roll Hermit".

I happened to see a bunch of Pure Prairie League LPs at a thrift store over the weekend. They had a long string of these: "Bustin' Out," "If The Shoe Fits", "Takin' The Stage," "Just Fly"...

cosmic brain dildo (Sparkle Motion), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 22:01 (eight years ago)

Came a cross these two Richard Harris' LPs in the wild yesterday. Don't remember seeing them here.

I like the idea that Wilbury Jam literally has a single jar of Wilbury Jam that they just keep in the bassist's fridge for years and use every time they have a new record coming out.

IF (Terrorist) Yes, Explain (man alive), Friday, 8 December 2017 19:42 (eight years ago)

Came across this one today. I think it's a pretty good cover but it seems like it still should be here. I think the cig is the cool detail and considering Porter was known for his glam style, a good twist. I'd figure it was Porter's take on Hank Sr.'s Luke the Drifter records.

http://d2ydh70d4b5xgv.cloudfront.net/images/0/a/skid-row-joe-down-in-the-alley-porter-wagoner-sealed-mint-vinyl-lp-1970-lsp-4386-9a86237868ffa6d2b5bbb63e2a2ded2d.jpg

earlnash, Saturday, 9 December 2017 05:06 (eight years ago)

Always happy to see that classic, though I think Porter’s album covers might be a whole other thread. This particular LP doesn’t have much to do with the preachifying Luke the Drifter iirc, though it’s a while since I’ve listened to either.
