Wala Cam is incredible

surely "I Might Need Security" is the standout? Strong lyrics, fun use of the sample

don't really care for I Might Need Security but the other 3 (especially Wala Cam) are great and better than most of Coloring Book

Haven't listened to 10Day in a very long time, but I can't imagine that it's aged too well. Its best song, "Windows," is the one song they couldn't clear I guess.

LOL, apparently there was a 5-foot alligator (!) sighted in one of Chicago's park lagoons (where I just went paddle boating a couple of weeks ago). Inevitably, it has been dubbed Chance the Snapper, and it has a twitter account.

Ugh I hated that. It’s so corny and doesn’t even make sense. Snappers are fish or turtles. Chance is from Chatham not humboldt park. I feel like the motivation for the name was some weird bourgie anxiety abt a “rough area” projected onto the rapper who soothes those anxieties for ppl

Huh. I thought it was just something that rhymed with "Rapper." I was a big fan of "Romancing the Stone" when I was a kid, and the bad guy in that movie has an alligator pit, and he's aways saying "look at those snappers!"

I really want to like this cause I'm getting bored w/ unambitious 30-minute rap records but uhhh

it feels mean to dislike this cause it's so good-natured and warmly arranged but at this point I guess I should just accept this is Not My Thing

I will conclude my remarks by saying "Roo" is quite nice

i did not love roo, but a few other tracks have been pretty good. i'm sure whatever playlist i make of this album will be good, but not at the level of the last two.

Is this as bad as they make it out to be? Loved Acid Rap and Coloring Book but the comments I’ve read on this one are not positive at all.

it's not horrible, and I did find the more palatable material crops up later on. it's just a lot of his thing to deal with in one sitting

It’s definitely not bad, but the first two tracks leave a bad taste that lingered. I’m definitely not allergic to his sentimental stuff (Same Drugs was either my fav or second fav CB track), and I think the album as a whole will make more sense in a live setting, but I definitely think it’s a step down.

It's backloaded, yeah, but it's a step down. Nothing as good as Same Drugs, Summertime Friends or Sunday Candy. The productions are too boring.

Def Chance’s New Jersey but still good

this is pretty underwhelming, i like chance's sound so it's still generally pleasant and the production is very lush but the hooks aren't there compared to his previous work and it's pretty forgettable overall. absolutely does not need to be nearly 80 minutes either, but barely anything does. maybe there's a good album in it with half the tracks removed idk

I think the general reception to this is already too negative to even qualify as a New Jersey.
