Yep, it's kind of amazing and bizarre. The tracks are all pretty short too -- this is a triple LP that never even came close to outstaying its welcome. Spectral, dissonant, trippy, hypnotic.

klockworks 20 is a+++

it reminds me of the good kompakt total compilations in terms of overall quality. also something about the sound and its relationship to techno reminds me of kompakt's relationship to minimal house. it sharpens and expands it.

an example is "perdita" by jay clarke, which is a really good minimal wave / punk track dressed in the finest techno outerwear.

lots of gorgeousness and distilled funkiness going on. there's something about a good techno track that is basically funky imo. it's hard to my finger on it, like it's not just a good 808 clave pattern, it can be how the frequencies of everything land. an example of not-funky and kind of bad techno is this new atomTM release. the samples sounded promising but there's just no sense of funk at all, the tracks are ponderous and overstuffed and they lose their impact and fall flat imo.

I've not been that impressed by the Call Super tracks that I've heard but his collaboration on Hessle with Beatrice Dillon is ace (her solo stuff is fantastic btw)
