yeah he's seems pretty engaged and just comfortable, like not trying to make something happen just being Snoop and doing a cool catchy old school west coast album

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 17:39 (eight years ago)

i did have an awkward moment talking to a friend about that album tho

"and he has some good features on there Devin, B-Real, Redman - "
"oh yeah, are they RAPPING ABOUT WEEEEEED"
"...."

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Tuesday, 5 September 2017 17:44 (eight years ago)

i actually enjoy the KRS-1 track, which seems a highly unlikely statement in 2017

yeah horrible stuff

Spottie, Friday, 8 September 2017 18:53 (eight years ago)

I didn't really check Princess Nokia because of her name, I didn't know if it was some Riff Raff type stuff or something, but anyway so far this is really good!

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 15 September 2017 14:34 (eight years ago)

I haven't listened to the new one but what I've heard in the past was really terrible

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 15 September 2017 15:52 (eight years ago)

Not that this means she won't pop but

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 15 September 2017 15:52 (eight years ago)

fairly certain we did this upthread already but brujas is great even if i'm less enamored of tomboy; been having a slow time cracking the album tho

new asap ferg with migos single is a remake of who dat which mostly made me wanna listen to the original for half a day

brujas was so 2010s it set my teeth on edge

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 15 September 2017 20:43 (eight years ago)

Her punchlines reminds me of action Bronson. take from that what you will

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 15 September 2017 20:46 (eight years ago)

new Dej Loaf oddly sounds like she's rocking a beat from a 2002 Freeway album or something, like it

So here's an interesting observation: a LOT of people seem to think that Post Malone doesn't rap. That what he's doing is, in fact, something else, more similar to... Jamiroquai. Or that he's simply just a singer. And while I'm no big fan of what he's doing in a lot of other ways... that *is* rapping on rockstar, right? Is it because he's white?

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Wednesday, 27 September 2017 16:15 (eight years ago)

xps thanks UMS

there's no reason to think this much about post malone imo

Spottie, Wednesday, 27 September 2017 16:27 (eight years ago)

some dude called him "Pigpen Paul Wall" and now I can only chuckle to myself whenever he is brought up

Universal LULU Nation (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 27 September 2017 16:46 (eight years ago)

sure, but at least he was pigpen paul wall and not pigpen robin thicke.

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Wednesday, 27 September 2017 16:49 (eight years ago)

pigpen jamiroquai, however... we could be getting close.

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Wednesday, 27 September 2017 16:50 (eight years ago)

i honestly thought this was ground zero for 'white iverson'

great mission statement for Warm Brew's amiable, low-stakes West Coast stoner jams

post malone looks like a herpe

small victories was the first warm brew that connected for me.

plz contribute to this thread about one of my fav rap albums of the year:

the gentle brilliance of deem spencer's 'we think we alone' (a thraed)

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 29 September 2017 22:10 (eight years ago)

I like this song

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Tuesday, 3 October 2017 17:39 (eight years ago)

nice

flopson, Tuesday, 3 October 2017 18:11 (eight years ago)

New G Herbo album is mighty good. Maybe a little samey/too close to the last few to get that excited about, but that guy always delivers

Not something I say often but Yachty killed this one

top 3 soundcloud rap tapes

carti
fauni
that new unotheactivist

ANU (sisilafami), Friday, 6 October 2017 16:24 (eight years ago)

i'm anticipating lil pump

flopson, Friday, 6 October 2017 19:49 (eight years ago)

Uno sounds a little bit too much like everyone else

I haven't checked the new fauni but he's pretty inconsistent

Smokepurpp is boring as hell

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 6 October 2017 20:06 (eight years ago)

Keef murders his spot on the pump tape & really makes me wonder why everyone tried to dispose of him before his time, he's better than any of these cats who are mostly trying to do what he does

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 6 October 2017 20:07 (eight years ago)

Pump tape sounds pretty fucking incredible on first listen

Evan R, Friday, 6 October 2017 20:12 (eight years ago)

Keef really does sound reinvigorated lately, I just wish he could keep the spark going for an entire project. All his projects start to sound pretty tired/lazy to me after a little while, even Thot Breaker, which teases a bunch of exciting ideas

Evan R, Friday, 6 October 2017 20:14 (eight years ago)

thot breaker is not his best tape this year

theres basically nothing wrong w the first tape he dropped this year aside from mixing issues, i dont think any of his tapes are perfect but he's basically in a zone where nothing he does gets benefit of the doubt...people were cheerleading the much wacker young thug album out the gate

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 6 October 2017 20:24 (eight years ago)

*any of his tapes this year were perfect ... back from the dead 2, almightyso, almightydp are another story

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Friday, 6 October 2017 20:25 (eight years ago)

music is horrible

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Friday, 6 October 2017 21:33 (eight years ago)

oh lol i hadn't even realized the pump was out when i wrote my last post

flopson, Friday, 6 October 2017 23:05 (eight years ago)

just listened to it like eight times on repeat, it's exactly what i wanted (which is to say, 'gucci gang' fifteen times)

flopson, Saturday, 7 October 2017 01:03 (eight years ago)

I had trouble listening to it one time through, said this on twitter but despite it being music for ppl w ostensibly short attention spans I felt like my attention span was even shorter
