yeah it is so much more than a dead dog song. not something that points to a great multi-album career though. i used to own the s/t and it was utterly utterly forgettable except for the groovy lettering on the cover

Anyway, this is "You Always Know Where You Stand With a Buzzard" by Clive John, which I saw in the wild today.

OK, I admit did post that earlier in this thread but actually seeing it in the flesh sort of trumps that.

such a weird title/cover match. like was it changed last-minute from "you always know where you stand with a pumpkin"? how the hell did they arrive at either of these?

not sure but I don't know if I've seen an underground/millennial band do one of these covers/titles ironically until now

The cover features the still-hairy prototypical hippy freak Clint generously holding out a giant fake-looking orange. The title of the album came from what Clint said to a visitor who fled after being attacked by buzzards whose nest site he’d unwittingly approached, the point being that you’re supposed to stand your ground and the buzzards will hold back.

There's something especially bad about food related ones. I'd like to see one called "Something I Ate Didn't Agree With Me" and it could be maybe a giant, monstrous fish fillet sandwich snarling menacingly at the artist.
