miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 30 January 2004 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

(and cut the last two if too long)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 30 January 2004 22:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd just remove side two of Doolittle.

Douglas (Douglas), Friday, 30 January 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Except take off "I Bleed" and "Dead, and add "Gouge Away."

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Friday, 30 January 2004 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

The thread where you make albums better by removing ALL the songs on them

sym (shmuel), Friday, 30 January 2004 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

You mean like this?

Radiohead: "Kid Amnesia EP":
Optimistic
Motion Picture Soundtrack
Knives Out
Pyramid Song

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 31 January 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(although an even better solution would have been removing "Electioneering" and "Climbing Up The Walls" from "OK Computer" and putting "Optimistic" and "Knives Out" in there instead, finally turning OKC into an absolutely perfect and flawless album)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 31 January 2004 00:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Dead Kennedys: Time for crac

Side 1
Take This Job and Shove It
Fleshdunce
The Great Wall
Shrink
Macho Insecurity
Gone With My Wind

Side 2
One-Way Ticket to Pluto
Potshot Heard 'Round the World
Chickenshit Conformist
Lie Detector

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Saturday, 31 January 2004 03:05 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry, transpose one way ticket to pluto with fleshdunce. Side one's the stompin HC side, side two's the artier side with the songs that speed up/slow down.

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Saturday, 31 January 2004 03:09 (twenty-two years ago)

(although an even better solution would have been removing "Electioneering" and "Climbing Up The Walls" from "OK Computer" and putting "Optimistic" and "Knives Out" in there instead, finally turning OKC into an absolutely perfect and flawless album)

Besides "Climbing Up The Walls" easily being one of their best songs, that wouldn't work at all from a flow standpoint, even if they'd rearranged and recorded OKC-style.

Sansai, Saturday, 31 January 2004 03:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Death in Vegas : The Contino Sessions

1. Dirge
2. Soul Auctioneer
3. Death Threat
4. Flying

One of the greatest EPs ever once you trim the fat.

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Saturday, 31 January 2004 04:13 (twenty-two years ago)

"Optimistic" and "Knives Out" could easily have passed for OKC songs. They aren't that much different, really, except maybe more guitar oriented than most of the OKC tracks (particularly with "Electioneering" left out)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 31 January 2004 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Deftones White Pony:
01 Digital Bath
02 Rx Queen
03 Knife Party
04 Passenger
05 Change

billstevejim, Saturday, 31 January 2004 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

"Electioneering" and "Climbing Up The Walls" are both fantastic. I'm not sure how to properly explain it at the moment, but I don't understand how one would consider removing anything from OK Computer.

billstevejim, Saturday, 31 January 2004 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

this thread is just designed to piss people off. Not one of these of an album I've heard didn't irk.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 31 January 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

j fail (cenotaph), Monday, 2 February 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Remove all the Loewenstein songs from Harmacy? And be left with an entire album of same old/same old Barlow pap? Never. NERRRRRVERRRR. Why not just leave "On Fire" and hit repeat.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

The only two tracks I'd nix on Elastica would be "Indian Song" and "Vaseline."

Vinnie (vprabhu), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

nine months pass...
I think Swans - Children of God would make an excellent LP if you the last six tracks on the album.

Ian Moraine (Eastern Mantra), Sunday, 21 November 2004 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

remove the last six tracks^

Ian Moraine (Eastern Mantra), Sunday, 21 November 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Most of the CDs released nowadays would be excellent EP with everything but the first 4-5 tracks removed.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 21 November 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Can someone do this for Speakerboxx/The Love Below, so I could burn it on one disc/not have to skip tracks? Thanks.
