despite thinking acid rap is best i think he has grown as an artist and have full belief he will best it soon. my main problem w colouring book is tempo and pacing; i love chance's giddy ecstatic overwhelming embrace the world energy and while doing a gospel album could've channeled that, instead lots of the tracks dragged

more preacher man vibes than like, explosive jubilant chorus

both so great it doesn't really matter to me.

however, kinda wish sunday candy was somewhere in coloring book.

i still think sunday candy is the best thing he's ever done

coloring book is pretty good but acid rap towers over it. but i also think acid rap is a GOAT record so

coloring book is a success tho simply for birthing a legitimate chart/rap chart hit and with a song that is legit good and doesn't betray his ethos/sound really at all

everyone loves him so i figure i'm just wrong but i find both albums completely uninteresting.

the song w/ wayne and 2 chainz is pretty weak imo

also, he gets killed on his own shit

I found it interesting that Chance the Rapper is so popular and yet most of his music is really unavailable in any hard format. It is a unique and modern way of controlling his own content.

Wala Cam is incredible

surely "I Might Need Security" is the standout? Strong lyrics, fun use of the sample

Wala Cam lyrics sound very freestyled

don't really care for I Might Need Security but the other 3 (especially Wala Cam) are great and better than most of Coloring Book

feel pretty good about these after more listens... “wala cam” is rly good

work out is dope too, might need security sample is fun but his punchlines are kinda wack

Haven't listened to 10Day in a very long time, but I can't imagine that it's aged too well. Its best song, "Windows," is the one song they couldn't clear I guess.

LOL, apparently there was a 5-foot alligator (!) sighted in one of Chicago's park lagoons (where I just went paddle boating a couple of weeks ago). Inevitably, it has been dubbed Chance the Snapper, and it has a twitter account.

Ugh I hated that. It’s so corny and doesn’t even make sense. Snappers are fish or turtles. Chance is from Chatham not humboldt park. I feel like the motivation for the name was some weird bourgie anxiety abt a “rough area” projected onto the rapper who soothes those anxieties for ppl

Huh. I thought it was just something that rhymed with "Rapper." I was a big fan of "Romancing the Stone" when I was a kid, and the bad guy in that movie has an alligator pit, and he's aways saying "look at those snappers!"

They could have named him Chief Teef
