new DJ Taye is really good! Vocals and hip hop influence bring a lot of variation to the sound, and Taye's productions are on point

i was surprised that i wasn't much into the dj earl album because in general i really like his production and dj'ing (particularly the jungle / dnb influence he brings)

also got quickly bored of the dj manny

hate to say it but i feel like footwork really peaked about 4 years ago

some of them used to do it primarily but i'm sure veering to rap was specifically bc they hadn't made their names as dance producers

im not saying the culture is gone at all, i know ppl who still do it, just that the rap gold rush def shifted some of the zeitgeist away for awhile
