Lorde - Melodrama (2017)

i wanted to say, i like the cover art on this album.

I wasn't impressed with "Liability" on SNL so I'm surprised how much I like it on the album. Guess I needed to hear it a few times.

Have now played this a few more times at work today and really enjoyed it all the way through. I like how she and Antonoff refined and expanded her sound without losing the sense of intimacy from the first album. Still kind of feels like Lorde alone in a room, just a bigger room with nicer furniture.

Good listen indeed. "Supercut" is my standout.

Really liked my first run through of this album. This would sound great on a late night drive.

sounds good but I still can't get with her pronunciation, sounds like she's pouting all the time

she does come off as wise beyond her years and quite sympathetic in recent RS feature though:

lorde is seasoned enough by this point to play to the outlets she's being interviewed by, I'd be surprised if she didn't mention someone like Don Henley

I think nothing would piss off Don Henley more knowing that a young female electronic musician with an obvious debt to current pop likes him, the more I think about it.

I have listened to the album a lot over the w-e and it's really good.
The only song I don't enjoy as much as the others is "sober" but it's alright.
I find the album almost too short (although I like that most of the songs are unusually short for these days. they say and do what they have to without expending for the sake of it).
One of the several moments I love is the "loveless" part. it's so light and great pop compared to the rest and right in the middle of the album.

Also anyone else get Echo + TB vibes at the end of The Louvre?

It was definitely reminding me of something. Came up with "Puerto Rico Way" by the 6ths.

Was also wondering what Lorde Album #2 sounds like thematically if Tayor and 1989 didn't exist.

there are a few songs that remind me, maybe through roundabout influence, that Lorde curated a pretty good Hunger Games soundtrack

Sober is a GREAT track

It's been pointed out that Sober is a response to Tennis Court thematically

this is sequenced flawlessly, one of those summer record you can't help but put on repeat.
