I gotta be honest I regularly skip like 5 songs on Paramore (and I don't mean the interludes)

love this one but BNE remains the best.

"Caught in the Middle" and "26" are the only ones that still haven't unbuttoned their shirts for me.

Caught in the Middle feels like a No Doubt album cut. While I like the idea of Paramore going ska, I wish there was more of a chorus. 26 is amazing though! At first I didn't think it lived up to Hate to See Your Heartbreak for me, as far as Paramore country attempts go, but sonically, it really feels like a lost Taylor Swift ballad circa Fearless or Speak Now.

Let the record reflect that I was OTM about "Grudges" upthread.

I think of "26" as a sequel to "Misguided Ghosts", which is one of the three ~perfect songs~ on Brand New Eyes.

But yeah there is something kinda Taylor about it.

Dang, jealous that you all connected with this so much. I burned out on it pretty fast.

It's well crafted and has some solid songs but I think it's kinda tacky.

I was hoping that "Hard Times" or "Told You So" would end up as a slow-burn hit the way "Ain't It Fun" did but I guess that's looking unlikely

they rushed the promo cycle on this record intentionally but its floppability may have been out of their hands anyway

Can we discuss how beautifully -- how intricately -- York layers those guitar parts on "Told You So"? At least three riffs, each playing something different, and Williams has a melody line for'em all. The thing is like a cuckoo clock.
