the battle of troy line is still a step up from "metaphorical Gin and Juice"

brontosaur, Thursday, 18 May 2017 20:42 (nine years ago)

in general it seems like the kind of song that only gets better on multiple listens. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "Work" level hit, but I don't expect it to happen

brontosaur, Thursday, 18 May 2017 20:43 (nine years ago)

yeah definitely

"work" wasn't instant for me either!

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 20:46 (nine years ago)

I love it. It's fresh.

bunny slopes, Friday, 19 May 2017 07:49 (nine years ago)

this is great. it's so nice to hear a new pop song with this sort of light touch. a little space, a little simplicity! thank you!

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Friday, 19 May 2017 10:19 (nine years ago)

I really like the song...and her performance too.#selenagomez #BadLiar #psychokiller

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Friday, 19 May 2017 10:20 (nine years ago)

yeah it's nice and will probably grow with more plays but I don't think it has a smash hit potential.
Somehow, it reminds me of Britney's "Piece of me".
and, yeah, her delivery is great.

AlXTC from Paris, Friday, 19 May 2017 10:24 (nine years ago)

sounds like... peaches. i love it.

dyl, Saturday, 20 May 2017 03:43 (nine years ago)

I have never heard that Maria Mena song before. That's great.
*Wonders if ILX has talked about it here before*

Is Maria Mena's "You're The Only One" the new Worst Thing Evah?

Oh.

MarkoP, Saturday, 20 May 2017 16:02 (nine years ago)

maria mena's newer stuff is also good

sick, fucking funny, and well tasty (katherine), Sunday, 21 May 2017 05:03 (nine years ago)

Love it as well. Not hearing how this sounds like CRJ at all tho.

dance cum rituals (Moka), Wednesday, 31 May 2017 04:06 (nine years ago)

Or do you mean something off her debut? I haven't heard that one.

dance cum rituals (Moka), Wednesday, 31 May 2017 04:08 (nine years ago)

less in sound than in lyrics

sick, fucking funny, and well tasty (katherine), Wednesday, 31 May 2017 04:47 (nine years ago)

in sound it kinda makes me think of a deroboticized version of something bloodshy & avant would've done with britney

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 1 June 2017 17:11 (nine years ago)

This came on the station my 11-year-old listens to which is otherwise 100% Hailee Steinfeld "Starving" + soundalikes and it really really really stood out (in a good way)

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 9 June 2017 18:48 (eight years ago)

four weeks pass...

ugh i love that David Byrne tweet

surm, Saturday, 8 July 2017 14:53 (eight years ago)

he tweeted it on my birthday!

surm, Saturday, 8 July 2017 14:53 (eight years ago)

The Bad Liar video is so goofy.

Roz, Sunday, 9 July 2017 01:22 (eight years ago)

i still have to see it but i got that sense. wait what is this new song she is teasing? Fetish?

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:19 (eight years ago)

oh it's out! lol

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:19 (eight years ago)

not surprisingly... i like it a lot <3

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:23 (eight years ago)

on first listen it sounds alright but a bit generic.

AlXTC from Paris, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:37 (eight years ago)

I went back to "good for you" which I hadn't heard in a while. still so... good (but too bad the video version isn't available on spotify).

AlXTC from Paris, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:38 (eight years ago)

i just did too last night! STILL that good

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 11:42 (eight years ago)

I still don't get that song at all or her generally but "Bad Liar" really is a jam

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Thursday, 13 July 2017 13:25 (eight years ago)

i have to tell you that her last spread in Vogue was gorgeous

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 13:34 (eight years ago)

simon h otm

the middle 8 (sorry) is GLORIOUS

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 13 July 2017 14:10 (eight years ago)

when i first heard it i was liike did not even know what was happening

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 14:14 (eight years ago)

i love the na na na na na stutter nod to Byrne too

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 14:15 (eight years ago)

Disappointed that Fetish is no good. I'm very done with that pseudo-trap sound altogether.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 13 July 2017 14:18 (eight years ago)

a pop song titled "fetish" could have been so much more conceptually interesting. the chorus is terrible.

dyl, Thursday, 13 July 2017 17:26 (eight years ago)

I'm just gonna listen to remixes of Baby Ford's "Fetish" instead, based on the responses here.

this iphone speaks many languages (DJP), Thursday, 13 July 2017 17:33 (eight years ago)

Wise.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 13 July 2017 17:41 (eight years ago)

I don't need her to remake Bad Liar a hundred times from here on out, but I liked that it stood out from what everybody else in her particular sphere is doing. Fetish is like the residue at the bottom of that sphere.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 13 July 2017 17:43 (eight years ago)

Video inspired by Beckett's 'Not I'? Actually, a young pop star version of Beckett on film would be awesome.

Eallach mhór an duine leisg (dowd), Thursday, 13 July 2017 17:46 (eight years ago)

ok listen Fetish is not great but i definitely didn't want her to try and imitate Bad Liar.

i love 'Trust Nobody' so much

surm, Thursday, 13 July 2017 20:15 (eight years ago)

xp ha!
