Cruisin' got like three votes in the 70's poll

wow, heathens

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:50 (nine years ago)

Shannon was completely expected, as well. One or more MJ tracks and 'Feel For You' are sure things. Beyond that...who even knows.

human/hutt hybrid (Old Lunch), Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:52 (nine years ago)

Shannon was my number 1. What a song.

ArchCarrier, Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:52 (nine years ago)

whew a classic

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:53 (nine years ago)

that Shannon video reminds of a time when video/record cover outfit coordination mattered

Dominique, Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:53 (nine years ago)

Yes that shannon is all time of its time and all time all times.

wtev, Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:57 (nine years ago)

God, how did I not vote for that one?!

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:58 (nine years ago)

This poll was a bloodbath.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 16:58 (nine years ago)

Tell me about it. Just realised I left all night long off my ballot

wtev, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:08 (nine years ago)

Wow, just realized You Are won't place. Figured that was the obvious Richie pick.

gospodin simmel, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:12 (nine years ago)

Jeez, I even forgot that song was still in the running.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:12 (nine years ago)

appropriate placing, not too high. obviously classic.

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:15 (nine years ago)

So wait ... NO Chaka has placed yet?!

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:19 (nine years ago)

Is "Buffalo Stance" still a possibility? It seems kind of high now but I'm surprised it would miss the poll altogether.

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:19 (nine years ago)

xpost Holy wow, you're right. But THAT'S not right.

human/hutt hybrid (Old Lunch), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:20 (nine years ago)

I gave it some votes but yes it isn't turning up. Nor is funkytown.

wtev, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:21 (nine years ago)

i didn't see neneh cherry as a comfortable fit for this poll and didn't vote for anything by her, much as i love "buffalo stance"

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:22 (nine years ago)

"funkytown" placed outside of the top 100 iirc

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:22 (nine years ago)

Multiple xp exactly. That's what I've been trying to say all along. Surely 2 in the top 7?!

i know kore-eda (or something), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:22 (nine years ago)

My "I was totally sure they'd be in the top 50 but I highly doubt they're in the top 10 so they probably didn't even make it into the top 300 which is completely insane and wrong" picks are 'Buffalo Stance', 'Nite and Day', and 'Why You Treat Me So Bad?'. One of them might still make it but I can't imagine we'll see all three.

human/hutt hybrid (Old Lunch), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:22 (nine years ago)

I'm cool on "Ain't Nobody," but now I have a vested interest in that making the top 7.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:23 (nine years ago)

Chaka, rushen, heartbeat... How will they all fit in?
Xxp

wtev, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:23 (nine years ago)

I don't know how I'll feel if I Feel For You bests Ain't Nobody.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:23 (nine years ago)

I do.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:24 (nine years ago)

It'll mainly be a physical thing.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:25 (nine years ago)

I'd feel bad (duhnuhnuhnuhnuhnuhnuh).

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:25 (nine years ago)

Heartbeat must be in here somewhere.

gospodin simmel, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:26 (nine years ago)

i'm disappointed "whip appeal" won't make it. in general i'm disappointed by how overlooked quiet storm-ish material has been.

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:28 (nine years ago)

also terrified that there might be no new edition in the entire top 250 :(

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:28 (nine years ago)

So the top 7 will 2xChaka, 2xMichael, Patrice, Taana, and...? George Clinton? Kool & the Gang? Both of them have one very popular tune I don't think have placed yet?

Tuomas, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:29 (nine years ago)

Also mildly annoyed that Donna Summer only placed once, in the 200s, with a Stock Aitken Waterman production.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:29 (nine years ago)

I'll second the rec for RAISE!

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:29 (nine years ago)

xp (Great tho that song is.)

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:29 (nine years ago)

is Whitney Houston "Saving All My Love for You" quiet storm?

Dominique, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:30 (nine years ago)

i've heard it on quiet storm segments so i'd say yes

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:31 (nine years ago)

For sure it is.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:31 (nine years ago)

great song too, wish i had space to vote for it

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:32 (nine years ago)

we haven't seen Word Up yet.

sexualing healing (crüt), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:32 (nine years ago)

I think this is a foregone conclusion, as shocking as it may be.

human/hutt hybrid (Old Lunch), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:33 (nine years ago)

I love the quiet storm breakdown in this:

LeRooLeRoo, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:35 (nine years ago)

i'm just gonna stop trying to guess what the top 7 are and accept that there have been shocking, devastating failures to place

dyl, Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:35 (nine years ago)

Forget Me Nots OTM

sexualing healing (crüt), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:35 (nine years ago)

Wait, 'All Cried Out' didn't make the top 300?!? Where am I!?

human/hutt hybrid (Old Lunch), Thursday, 18 May 2017 17:35 (nine years ago)

"forget me nots": really good but now hugely overrated? *dodges tomatoes*

Ah, of course! That's the top 7 settled then. Kinda boring, but that's to expected at this point. At least they're all top tunes! In fact, the whole top 10 is nothing less than brilliant. Can't think of any other poll where that was the case.
