Maybe Sade?

LeRooLeRoo, Friday, 12 May 2017 12:41 (nine years ago)

Zapp, surely. Evelyn "Champagne" King, probably.

baby, we don't love you baby, we don't love you baby, yeah (Sanpaku), Friday, 12 May 2017 17:07 (nine years ago)

My Zapp vote went to something that wasn't nominated.

Mr. Mister probably. "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie."

Awesome, that's the best Change tune IMO. A pure, concentrated form of disco goodness, maybe even the last "classic disco" hit? (In that it has diva vocals, funk groove, and an arrangement based on "real" instruments, no synths or drum machines.)

Tuomas, Monday, 15 May 2017 12:11 (nine years ago)

I want to say that I'm ready, but I'm not sure that I'm ready. My mind might get blowed.

x-post

my choice of best Change track too though I'd call it the first post-disco hit; no synths or drum machines but more a complex arrangement & vocals than many classic disco songs, either way it rules

Dogshit Critic (m coleman), Monday, 15 May 2017 12:19 (nine years ago)

Too low.

I was all set to skip this when it popped up on shuffle in the nominations playlist but I ended up listening to it all the way through, had forgotten how good it is

When "Wonder Woman" went into syndication on my local channel around 1983, "She's a Bad Mama Jama" was the bumper music.

A Lover's Holiday is a good start to today's results. The Glow Of Love is a perfect album. Six songs with nothing below a 10/10.

"she's a bad mama jama" is way too low for something so built, so stacked

holy shit I just learned he's "Everlasting Love" guy

"Make Me a Memory (Sad Samba)" sounds like a song I ought to know way more intimately that I currently do.

I love "Lover's Holiday" a little less than some of y'all but this is a 5-for-5 top 100 so far.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Monday, 15 May 2017 14:11 (nine years ago)

I'm three for five among the top 100 thus far. This might be the rare poll where my votes align with the consensus.

xp I just meant they were all great songs ... not sure any of them actually got my vote

I used to confuse Junior for Matthew Wilder.

Super Single!

kitchen person, Monday, 15 May 2017 14:38 (nine years ago)

You guys have been waiting so long for me to finish; should I do a 2-day rollout to get it over with, or spread it out over 4 or 5 days?

ArchCarrier, Monday, 15 May 2017 14:45 (nine years ago)

I think 4 days of 25 sounds about right.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Monday, 15 May 2017 14:47 (nine years ago)

xp i was wondering about that; i guess it was just another way of saying 'maxi single'.

piscesx, Monday, 15 May 2017 14:47 (nine years ago)

oh god

way wayyyyy too low

Sweet Love is peerless

i know kore-eda (or something), Monday, 15 May 2017 15:58 (nine years ago)

Huh @ 'How Will I Know'. This poll helped me realize that I'm not crazy about any of the big Whitney singles with the exception of 'Greatest Love of All'. Maybe I voted for that? Can't remember. But I think the Whitney track I definitely voted for is a lost cause at this point, sadly.

A great single, but it has no place in an R&B poll, I really don't get why people nominated and voted for it?
