i mean, i never fully bought into yachty so im not pretending this is some radical departure from his usual shit, cynical pop star at any costs was always his steez
but that also has the potential to tip over at any moment into pure marketing hype. the anti "real hip hop" crusade has been a remarkable shield for his lack of original musical ideas but its kinda corny to me
i do think he can rap though

the other thing about 'bring it back' that's lame is, it feels like a compromise pop record right at the moment when uncompromised rap records like 'xo tour life' 'look at me' and 'magnolia' can do well on top 40...its weirdly dated, chasing that 'hold on we're going home' high.
