I just love that this song scans as "classic" Mac (late '70s imperial phase production/rhythm work) but is also just this weird-ass Lindsey thing

Everyone's talking about Lindsey, but this is also Christine's first significant studio recording in a very long time. Looking forward to it.

OTM. It's also the first Fleetwood Mac album for over a decade, which is all the more reason to get excited.

...so music and chicken have become intertwined (Turrican), Sunday, 16 April 2017 19:56 (nine years ago)

love love love the single. puzzled/alarmed by the tour announcement, which currently has the buckingham mcvie tour skipping la (and ny), maybe because la (and ny) have the classic west east thingy at baseball stadiums with the eagles, but that's going to make me jealous of the rest of the country which gets to see them in not-a-baseball-stadium. please fix this, lindsey and christine, once you are done fixing the album cover kthxbye.

fact checking cuz, Sunday, 16 April 2017 21:39 (nine years ago)

yeah, wish they were coming to the bay area.

also, there WAS a Mac EP (download only) a few years back. It was good. It was completely overlooked.

akm, Tuesday, 18 April 2017 21:05 (nine years ago)

yeah weird that this is never mentioned (although I cannot remember anything about it myself)

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 18 April 2017 21:12 (nine years ago)

"Sad Angel" is a fine song that I listen to often.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 18 April 2017 21:19 (nine years ago)

yeah it was a good ep.

that's great

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 27 April 2017 15:50 (nine years ago)

aw that's a good one, a bit of Mirage feel

Dominique, Thursday, 27 April 2017 15:58 (nine years ago)

yeah, Mirage via McCartney, maybe. It's good! Starting to feel like this album's gonna be great

Wimmels, Thursday, 27 April 2017 16:56 (nine years ago)

nice "Magnet and Steel" reference too

J. Sam, Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:39 (nine years ago)

goddamn, another great song. this album is gonna rule i can't believe it

flappy bird, Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:40 (nine years ago)

Yeah, this Fleetwood Mac album is going to rule.

The Anti-Climax Blues Band (Turrican), Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:46 (nine years ago)

eh the first song was at best OK – a bit enervated.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:48 (nine years ago)

after a month of listening to Lindsey's first solo album nonstop, it was revelatory. you can put 'in my world' and 'trouble' on a 45 and it would make sense

flappy bird, Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:50 (nine years ago)

they're both good songs alfred

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:50 (nine years ago)

but i can def believe this album is gonna rule, it's not like any recent lindsey solo record sucks

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 27 April 2017 17:53 (nine years ago)

they're both good songs alfred

― ToddBonzalez (BradNelson),

I haven't heard the second. I didn't hear much Christine on the first.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 27 April 2017 18:08 (nine years ago)

...then you might really dig this new one!

It's not the right therad, but can I mention how much I love this unknown album closer. It's a stunner. I love her solo after the first chorus.

hell yea

flappy bird, Friday, 28 April 2017 17:14 (nine years ago)

Dave Fizdale is the name Lindsey used to check into hotels in the '80s.

Dominique, Thursday, 1 June 2017 11:53 (nine years ago)

damn they all sound fantastic

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Thursday, 1 June 2017 12:57 (nine years ago)

surprised this hasn't leaked

akm, Thursday, 1 June 2017 17:28 (nine years ago)

Christine sounds like she'd be an acerbic joy after a glass of wine.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 1 June 2017 17:32 (nine years ago)

The production makes them sound like the younger bands who are inspired by them. The three new songs on Spotify sound like a Captured Tracks band's new EP!

Kinda weird that this thread went dead when the album was actually, you know, released.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 13 June 2017 11:38 (eight years ago)

yeah :(

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 11:42 (eight years ago)

I'm listening to it as I type.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 11:47 (eight years ago)

I'm not as high on it as Brad but about half of it consists of keepers. McVie sounds magnificent on "Carnival Begin."

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 11:47 (eight years ago)

This was a bit anticlimactic for me -- my favorite song is still Christine's "Feel About You". I'd agree w/the above that about half of it I'd want to hear again, but that's not exactly my description of a great record.

Dominique, Tuesday, 13 June 2017 13:16 (eight years ago)

quality of this feels v even to me, don't know what to tell y'all

shouts out to "sleeping around the corner" for kinda sounding like prefab sprout at first, thereby closing a loop

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 13:40 (eight years ago)

Keepers: Sleeping Around the Corner, Red Sun, On with the Show, Carnival Begin, Love is Here to Stay, Game of Pretend. Well, I guess that's more than half the album.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 13:47 (eight years ago)

i think "too far gone" is maybe the only misstep but that's only bc i haven't decided how i feel conceptually about "'world turning' but less good"

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 13:52 (eight years ago)

that's one where the production is too spare to do it justice; the track sounds cramped.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 June 2017 13:56 (eight years ago)

I by and large like this, but they sound like hi-fi home demos. Which can be cool! But not always here, imo.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 13 June 2017 15:13 (eight years ago)

In My World is my favorite, still. Feel About You is a bit cloying?
