I like him but I don't get putting Curtis in the league with Al or Stevie honestly.

gospodin simmel, Friday, 14 April 2017 11:29 (nine years ago)

Sort of worried for Ashford and Simpson at this point tho.

My 1 per artist rule (with a few exceptions) was tough on Stevie. This turned out to be the track I couldn't leave out.

ArchCarrier, Friday, 14 April 2017 12:28 (nine years ago)

"Living For The City" was my #2. I also voted for "Higher Ground" and another one which hasn't yet placed (but I bet it will).

I voted for 4 Al Green tracks - the most of any act, which was a bit of a surprise, but there you go. "Love And Happiness" just sneaked in at #100.

mike t-diva, Friday, 14 April 2017 12:36 (nine years ago)

human music...I like it! (voodoo chili), Friday, 14 April 2017 13:14 (nine years ago)

If Living For The CIty can't make the top 40, it would appear that there aren't that many Stevie songs left.

kornrulez6969, Friday, 14 April 2017 13:20 (nine years ago)

I'm hoping BB King's Ain't Nobody Home shows up. I had never heard that song until ArchCarrier nominated it. Many many thanks for that.

Do I have to explore more BB King now? The U2 song When Love Comes To Town kinda soured me, I guess. But Ain't Nobody Home is just about perfect.

kornrulez6969, Friday, 14 April 2017 13:23 (nine years ago)

Aw, "Love and Happiness" was the Al Green I was hoping would finish top 10.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Friday, 14 April 2017 14:06 (nine years ago)

We're in my favorite stretch of the rollout now, starting at 41. "Tears" was my number 5.

ArchCarrier, Friday, 14 April 2017 14:09 (nine years ago)

Aww, Smokey seems finished. Unless Quiet Storm shows up. Hard to see how it could top Tears of a Clown, though. That is one of the alltime great songs.

xp - I voted for "Children of the Night" as my Stylistics epic; very glad "People" made it even without my help.

ArchCarrier, Friday, 14 April 2017 14:31 (nine years ago)

I had "Wake Up Everybody" really high up on my ballot, but didn't know how popular it was and was not expecting it to place at this point.

One of my discoveries from the nomination process; the intro sounds far ahead of its time.

ArchCarrier, Friday, 14 April 2017 15:13 (nine years ago)

I don't quite get Shuggie Otis. Nice song and all, but for it to finish ahead of the likes of Tears of a Clown and dozens of others just feels wrong.

kornrulez6969, Friday, 14 April 2017 15:23 (nine years ago)

Yeah, especially when compared to the Brothers Johnson version. I prefer that one.

I too prefer the Brothers Johnson version. Greatly.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Friday, 14 April 2017 15:27 (nine years ago)

I strongly prefer Shuggie's original over the Brothers Johnson cover - it's a long-time favourite, and was my #10.

mike t-diva, Friday, 14 April 2017 15:29 (nine years ago)

Ain't Nobody Home is a Howard Tate song right? Never understood I Want You Back tbh.

gospodin simmel, Friday, 14 April 2017 15:31 (nine years ago)

lol @ both versions of Strawberry Letter 23 placing wtf
