Nice work ArchCarrier and thanks for using my poll name suggestion. You Are Everything was in my top 10. I feel like the overriding story of 70s soul was the work of producers and arrangers like Charles Stepney, Arif Mardin, Maurice White, Gamble/Huff and my favourite, Thom Bell, who of course is responsible for YAE.

I'm pretty sure I left "Rainy Night in Georgia" and "Everybody is a Star" off my ballot after checking some dates and determining that they both existed a little too comfortably within 1969 for me to include, but I'm happy to see them place nonetheless.

Big YAYs for a bunch of things here: "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)," "Don't Leave Me This Way," "You Are Everything," "Just My Imagination," "Summer Madness," "Miss You" (sorry Eric), "Use Me" and esp "Grandma's Hands," which was one of two Withers tracks in my Top 10.

Tell Me Something Good has been in so many ads that it barely even feels like a real song anymore, but it's got an awesome wah-wah guitar sound and a fairly classic progression into that famous chorus.

"Rock With You" is one of those songs that is so familiar by now that it becomes easy to underestimate it. Just looking at my ballot again (#62), I'm stunned at how I could have placed such a lovely, classic song so low.

"Lean on Me" is kinda like Lennon's "Imagine", a deceptively simple pop piano paean that many seem to regard as hokey and overexposed

I voted for six Stevies, and of the six Stevies that have placed, I voted for only one of them.

We're up to #62 and still haven't gotten a song chosen by half the voters.

Likewise, insofar as it took me a long time, even after becoming a Withers fan, to hear the song without hearing that stupid 80s cover. Finally made my peace with it, though; I voted for it.
