I love Ladytron and think they have some wonderful stuff, but they didn't come into their own for me until Witching Hour

I also love Goldfrapp and they'd undoubtedly take the title for me if they didn't have a split personality of synthpop band vs. folk act.

Chvrches have released two superb albums and have never deviated from their synthpop template, therefore it's them.

Client were/are garbage, and I don't like Hot Chip at all.

Also, unlike a lot of synth-pop revivalists, Chvrches has a vocalist who can actually sing.

Goldfrapp's two explicitly synthpop records "Black Cherry" and "Supernature" are miles better than Chvrches.

UK based Fear of Men's last album "Fall Forever" did interest things with synth-pop but was totally slept on in 2017

Mayberry sounds uncannily like Avril Lavigne when singing the "good intentions never good enough" line.

Really disappointed with this single. They won me round on the second album, but this sounds like they're totally going through the motions.

It sounds like Chvrches being Chvrches and not trying to be pain in the arse arty bellends for the sake of it, which suits me down to the ground.

Why would you say that? I really wanted to like this song. I thought Every Open Eye was a huge improvement over the first album.

I like the new song. It's not pushing their boundaries but it's kind of what I want out of it.
