do you know who you are for me is just like "what if there was an emo album with the scope and sound of a smashing pumpkins record and also it rocked really hard," sort of inevitable that it would be one of my fav albums of all time

Thursday was the best discovery of this poll by far. Not this album exactly, but a few of the others have become instant favorites.

this is great so far

that reissue they put out a few years ago constitutes literally every song they wrote together. the new songs are both great (and if you love the album definitely listen to "blue boy" which is their best song and which only appeared on a split with the promise ring)

Yeah this was very high on my ballot, such a great record.

xp "Blue Boy" one of the top reasons why I wished there was a tracks poll.

"texas is the reason" is prob the most emo band name imo.

pays tribute to an established non-emo punk band, expresses a enigmatic sentiment that both answers and asks a question, also references american geography (v important part of emo imo)

I listened to Young Machetes yesterday, it was much better than I remembered. Still not as good as Crimes

re: SUCK JACKIE SUCK, one of the potential band names I came up with in college was SOKMOTOR - Swedish for search engine. It wouldn't have been emo though.

another gateway record for me

hello i'm a tourist from the metal thread and have been enjoying this rollout as i've been in a kind of genre exploration mood lately; Gospel, Angel Hair, Shotmaker, and City of Caterpillar (which I'd been vaguely aware of) have been nice discoveries. Gospel especially -- I remember having that album saved on a wish list on a second hand CD site and feel stupid for not grabbing it when it became available a few years ago. ayyy. i should have paid more attn to it.
