yay! amazing album and another one that i could see placing higher in ten years

"Rejoice" is maybe the most shattering song I've ever heard. Also, a friend of mine works with profoundly at-risk youth and "Go Home" really struck a nerve.

(For her, I mean. I don't go around assuming other people's feelings, that I know of.)

Lol. I love Read Music/Speak Spanish, but this is my favourite Bright Eyes album by a mile and this was third on my ballot and forever in my heart. This was the first 'weird' emo album I ever owned and the fact that it took me so many more listens to get into and interpret just made it all the more rewarding.

So happy Julien Baker placed! Also, Desaparecidos is bound to place, and rightfully so imho. Lifted... indeed doesn't hold up well tbh.

Emoprog forever. My #2. Every track holds up. This album is all over the place in the best possible way.

idk i don't think there's a lot separating julien baker from something like rainer maria's "rise." in interviews she talks about how much she loved fob and her songs, in terms of the way the chords move and the way she sings over them, show it imo

she also makes me very emotional

also her band (formerly the star killers, i don't remember their current name) is super emo
