it is becoming clear that emo has more than three chord sequences

maybe as many as seven

an uptempo Pop/Hip Hop mentality (imago), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:39 (nine years ago)

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:43 (nine years ago)

Just a reminder that you said 'wow, this is some emo' about Say Anything.

tangenttangent, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:45 (nine years ago)

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:47 (nine years ago)

You know I've been running one too but I wouldn't mind ceding that to you - free up a little bit of my time.

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:48 (nine years ago)

the raindrops and drop tops of lived, earned experience (BradNelson), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:49 (nine years ago)

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:51 (nine years ago)

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:51 (nine years ago)

people accusing me of being an emo kid really stunted my emo development

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 15:52 (nine years ago)

love Moss Icon.

when she said that i'd pull up my coheed hoodie over my head and eyes and pout

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:01 (nine years ago)

This is lower than I expected - good record!

Also I have to admit, Say Anything are a real blind spot for me.

Gavin, Leeds, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:03 (nine years ago)

good to know that i'm at least as good at drums as the moss icon guy

I gave this a vote but I think it might be the drumming that holds me back from loving them as much as I 'should'? I always feel like they should be tighter (or else more loose and free/noisy).

the raindrops and drop tops of lived, earned experience (BradNelson), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:12 (nine years ago)

i almost submitted this album to the Jordan S listening club iirc but went with nation of ulysses instead

gr8080, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:14 (nine years ago)

there is a lyric from an album that will definitely place in this countdown that I am *still* planning on getting a semi prominent tattoo of lol

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:16 (nine years ago)

Jersey's best Dancers and Hello Bastards both would have made my top ten.

husked, tonal wails (irrational), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:25 (nine years ago)

the 2007 s/t wasnt nominated iirc, but for a reunion lp, was pretty solid imo

so sick so sick of being tired
and oh so tired of being sick

the raindrops and drop tops of lived, earned experience (BradNelson), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:46 (nine years ago)

i voted for a different tbs record but tbh this one has it all

the raindrops and drop tops of lived, earned experience (BradNelson), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:46 (nine years ago)

it's not particularly recorded well and the songwriting is pretty disorganized and they would make way better records than this and yet it's so special

the raindrops and drop tops of lived, earned experience (BradNelson), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:47 (nine years ago)

fuck i just realized i forgot to vote for piebald :-0

gr8080, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:49 (nine years ago)

Fav song on this TBS record is prob Bike Scene

Lebro v. Wade (Spottie), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 16:52 (nine years ago)

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:01 (nine years ago)

yeah I never listened to much TBS-esque music because those first two TBS albums did it all so perfectly. Never had any need for imitators (or, tbh, any more TBS albums)

Evan R, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:02 (nine years ago)

haha GET IN THERE!

Campaigning, even in the last hours works folks!

Odysseus, Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:03 (nine years ago)

A board I used to post on thought this album was one of the best records of the 00s. They weren't wrong.

tt and I voted for this on the strength of one listen

an uptempo Pop/Hip Hop mentality (imago), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:07 (nine years ago)

is this black metal?

Lebro v. Wade (Spottie), Tuesday, 7 March 2017 17:07 (nine years ago)

It sounded good on the basis of one listen, although I didn't vote for it.
