Not only was that Tony Kelly album posted before but the follow up post was almost exactly the same. We're going round in circles!

Meanwhile, for no apparent reason, Lon & Derrek Van Eaton are asking, "Who Do You Out Do".

The tune 'We Got Love' off that Tom Jones record is quite good. It's a total Issac Hayes/Barry White production and that moogy bass in the right channel and scratchy guitar in the left is pretty funky.

I know it's not an album title but I never knew this was a thing

That list needs correction: it lists the wrong "Jagger" song from 2011.

BTO's not fragile was a 'nuk nuk' riposte to fragile by yes

a but (brimstead), Saturday, 4 March 2017 21:03 (nine years ago)

or rather...

In a 1995 interview, Randy Bachman indicated that he thought that using the word "fragile" as a title for a rock album, as Yes had done with their 1971 album Fragile, was "strange."[1] He thought that BTO music could be "dropped and kicked" without breaking, so, without intending any commentary about Yes, the band "tongue-in-cheek" called their next album Not Fragile.

bachman turner overdrive - old americans

increasingly bonkers (rushomancy), Saturday, 4 March 2017 23:28 (nine years ago)

I think the Yes album cover actually had a picture of the world breaking, which is true; I mean, the world is a fragile place as far as the ecology and things like that. So it's not us against the band Yes. We just thought that was kind of a strange title, so we thought we'd call ours Not Fragile.

And that's how rock and roll albums get made.

does anyone outside of the UK have that haircut? that combed down sideburns w the bangs brushed forward and then fluffed up in the back? I feel like that is literally a thing I see solely on a small subset of UK "rock" dudes

it looks like he got an ordinary shag haircut, and then someone slapped a 'rocker' halloween costume wig (or brain slug) on top towards the back.

There's about 500 guys with that hairstyle on this thread: a mix between The Stone Roses and Primal Scream with the swagger of Oasis

haha these are great

niels, Thursday, 16 March 2017 20:36 (nine years ago)

yeah i've never had a problem with these extending way past the 70s, though it helps when it's an act that plausibly had been saving up this title since that time. the 70s is a ~feeling~ with these cats.

and yeah "But, I'm On The Guest List" is incredible

wrt to snatch that totally doesn't have the shruggy, just a regular joe kinda irony that is the key to these.

like a i've got my own album to do title CAN be a pun, but being a pun doesn't necessarily make it one if that makes sense
