Spottie, Wednesday, 22 February 2017 06:00 (nine years ago)

why does he do this

flopson, Wednesday, 22 February 2017 15:34 (nine years ago)

ridiculous perm ban decision (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 22 February 2017 21:21 (nine years ago)

i'd cut some songs at the beginning and end, but otherwise i think this is a really good record from him. some of the tracks are really fun--zoom, draco, POA, mask off, high demand, i'm so groovy. this sounds 100x better than EVOL to me and on the level of ds2

J0rdan S., Thursday, 23 February 2017 03:46 (nine years ago)

i cant envision experiencing Future's projects as being so radically variable tbh

where are these Beast Mode instrumentals? Can't find em on Spotty.

The Atlanta rapper has funneled most of his music through three personas: Super Future, Fire Marshal Future, and Future Hendrix (he explained them as the hitmaker, the party packer, and the rockstar, respectively).

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Thursday, 23 February 2017 15:18 (nine years ago)

lag∞n, Thursday, 23 February 2017 15:43 (nine years ago)

"fresh air" on the new one is incredible wow

J0rdan S., Friday, 24 February 2017 05:10 (nine years ago)

"damage"

J0rdan S., Friday, 24 February 2017 05:28 (nine years ago)

the production on "use me" damn

J0rdan S., Friday, 24 February 2017 05:36 (nine years ago)

"incredible" ... this album sounds really good (through 8 tracks)

J0rdan S., Friday, 24 February 2017 05:42 (nine years ago)

the rihanna song delivers too

J0rdan S., Friday, 24 February 2017 05:54 (nine years ago)

when you get high enough you can dodge raindrops

so this is Future's 'soul' album. I'm liking it a lot so far.

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Friday, 24 February 2017 09:22 (nine years ago)

This is more like it.

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Friday, 24 February 2017 10:08 (nine years ago)

God yeah this is already the most immediate thing he's done in ages

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Friday, 24 February 2017 10:29 (nine years ago)

HNDRXX is pretty great, with a lot of cool new sounds--I wonder how much Metro and Southside were involved

ridiculous perm ban decision (voodoo chili), Friday, 24 February 2017 15:07 (nine years ago)

This is more like it.

otm!

(•̪●) (carne asada), Friday, 24 February 2017 15:30 (nine years ago)

I really want more artists to follow up new just-OK records with really strong ones a week later. like, "psych!" (obv this is based on initial assessments of both)

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Friday, 24 February 2017 15:36 (nine years ago)

well, he did say it was a feast. we could've assumed it would've been multi-course. save room for dessert ;)

flopson, Friday, 24 February 2017 15:57 (nine years ago)

"t-shirt" is like a chocolate luna bar, it packs all the nutrition and protein of a main course with the chocolately goodness of a dessert into one song

nice try tho future

blonde redheads have more fun (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 24 February 2017 16:52 (nine years ago)

future is a cool album imo and he does mix it up some but its subtle, i think were just all ready for a new future sound, and now we have it :)

lag∞n, Friday, 24 February 2017 17:26 (nine years ago)

fuck im so excited to listen to this!!!

flopson, Friday, 24 February 2017 17:30 (nine years ago)

in all seriousness ppl shd really just listen to this thugger song Young Thug thread

lag∞n, Friday, 24 February 2017 17:47 (nine years ago)

im a little mixed on this one tbh. like the pop/r&b production is handled excellently throughout (guessing at least some of it is mustard) but i dont feel like all of the resultant songs work. "incredible" in particular seems like a jason deruole outtake that future happens to sing on...which is still better than jason derulo songs, tbf

"use me" and "selfish" are fantastic tho. also really like "testify," "neva missa lost," "damage," "turn on me," even "my collection" altho its central conceit is...as gross or almost as gross as "i won" from honest

royce jung (slothroprhymes), Friday, 24 February 2017 18:28 (nine years ago)

this album is v good

johnny crunch, Friday, 24 February 2017 22:50 (nine years ago)

testify is dope

johnny crunch, Friday, 24 February 2017 23:11 (nine years ago)

agree that there's an unevenness to this, the second half seems stronger.

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Saturday, 25 February 2017 00:56 (nine years ago)

'keep quiet,' 'i thank u,' 'new illuminati,' 'turn on me' are all sounding dope. (haven't gotten to the end yet)

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Saturday, 25 February 2017 01:04 (nine years ago)

i also like 'solo.' 'sorry' is distractingly keef-ish

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Saturday, 25 February 2017 01:07 (nine years ago)

it's all about Fresh Air afaic

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Saturday, 25 February 2017 05:02 (nine years ago)

holy shit 'Use Me'

flopson, Monday, 27 February 2017 01:03 (nine years ago)

Is this significantly different to his last few records?

Matt DC, Monday, 27 February 2017 11:24 (nine years ago)

Yeah, it's closer to r&b-Future.

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Monday, 27 February 2017 11:29 (nine years ago)

i like both of the recent tapes pretty well. some filler, some keepers. enjoyable rap music

Listen to my homeboy Fantano (D-40), Monday, 27 February 2017 11:41 (nine years ago)

That's what I was hoping, the Future of the 2015 tapes and onwards has never done much for me.

Matt DC, Monday, 27 February 2017 11:45 (nine years ago)

HNDRXX is definitely worth a listen Matt DC. I didn't like anything he released last year.

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Monday, 27 February 2017 13:01 (nine years ago)

these are his strongest albums since his renaissance imo save perhaps 56 nights

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 February 2017 14:15 (nine years ago)

In other news, the Beast Mode instrumentals are fantastic. Never really cared for 'Ooooooh' but it really works without the vocal.

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Monday, 27 February 2017 16:20 (nine years ago)

third album out Friday lol

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Monday, 27 February 2017 16:32 (nine years ago)

nice, he must have so much unreleased material

lag∞n, Monday, 27 February 2017 16:40 (nine years ago)

he shouldn't release it all imo. there should be a law about it or something

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Monday, 27 February 2017 16:41 (nine years ago)
