Would be curious to see an artists poll. Though I see an almighty clusterfuck deciding what constitutes an artist. Would Spector/Timbaland be eligible? Would you seperate acts who owe most of their success to one member, Wham!/George Michael, Rod Stewart/Faces etc?

I could do Jimi Hendrix. What was the usual time frame before every poll started lasting four months? Two weeks voting, one week rollout?

I feel like I'd like a slightly longer voting or nomination period but that may be just me

one week nomination feels right but i think a two week voting period feels more appropriate

If It Makes You Less Sad I Will POLL Emo Albums

So I've got the finefinemusic spreadsheet. What have ppl found is the easiest/best way to solicit ballots to input into the spreadsheet? It seems like if I give ppl something like 30 votes (which is built into the spreadsheet), if ppl give me less I'll have to manually number the ballots? (If they give 30 exactly I can just copy/paste the 1 through 30 over and over?) Thoughts?

When I've done these polls I have a vlookup looking from the album position to a list of the points allocated to the each position. Do as little manual entry as possible, get your formulas to do all the work.

I'm happy to do the spreadsheeting for you if you want, I helped Bee OK with the Van Halen poll a few months ago.

after discussing with sund4r I think i may expand it to any post bad brains punk inc the green days and the fobs etc. but not 77 punk or post-punk. but theres gonna be years before anything needs decided :)

i think post-rock is included in the shoegaze/dreampop poll. math rock wouldnt fit in with that. plus its gonna be years after that poll anyway

i've been looking forward to a reason to force people to listen to zazen boys songs and the round hole of a hardcore/math/post-h poll seems like the perfect place for me to cram that square peg
