omfg YES
― flappy bird, Friday, 13 January 2017 19:50 (seven years ago) link
i sorta predicted this bc the most recent updates in the "new fleetwood mac album" section of their wikipedia page suggest stevie's total indifference lol
― who is extremely unqualified to review this pop album (BradNelson), Friday, 13 January 2017 20:20 (seven years ago) link
I see no reason why this shouldn't come out under the name of Fleetwood Mac, tbh.
― Working night & day, I tried to stay awake... (Turrican), Friday, 13 January 2017 20:49 (seven years ago) link
a whole album of "Isn't It Midnight" and "World Turning," please

Man some days I think nobody harmonizes together better than Lindsey and Christine. Mirage is comfortably my favourite these days
― kolakube (Ross), Monday, 5 March 2018 20:20 (six years ago) link
some days i'm not entirely sure which voice is lindsey's and which is christine's.
― fact checking cuz, Monday, 5 March 2018 20:34 (six years ago) link
^ exactly
― kolakube (Ross), Monday, 5 March 2018 20:40 (six years ago) link
JEEZE WHAT A DAY

― flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 9 April 2018 19:49 (six years ago) link
Who did he hit this time?
― Naive Teen Idol, Monday, 9 April 2018 19:50 (six years ago) link
Lindsay is out - Neil Finn and Mike Campbell are in! Tour upcoming.
― kurt schwitterz, Monday, 9 April 2018 19:56 (six years ago) link
It's amazing these geriatric musicians still have such fragile egos
― Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Monday, 9 April 2018 19:58 (six years ago) link
What--is that true about Finn & Campbell?
― Making Plans For Sturgill (C. Grisso/McCain), Monday, 9 April 2018 20:04 (six years ago) link
Time for these 70 year old children to pack it in
― Master of Treacle, Monday, 9 April 2018 20:05 (six years ago) link
this is a terrible idea, wtf. glad I saw them a few years ago.
― akm, Monday, 9 April 2018 20:08 (six years ago) link
unless they're just going to tour like, future games and bare trees stuff.
Neil Finn and Mike Campbell
the housebreakers!
― fact checking cuz, Monday, 9 April 2018 20:16 (six years ago) link
lolll
― kurt schwitterz, Monday, 9 April 2018 20:19 (six years ago) link
"fired over a disagreement about the upcoming tour"
― ufo, Monday, 9 April 2018 20:49 (six years ago) link
Well, they're both good guitarists *shrug*
― morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:03 (six years ago) link
I'd rather see Mike Campbell and Neil Finn, sans Fleetwood Mac. Or Neil, Mike and Christine.
― Josh in Chicago, Monday, 9 April 2018 21:11 (six years ago) link
At this rate, maybe you will.
― Ned Raggett, Monday, 9 April 2018 21:12 (six years ago) link
Neil Finn and Mike Campbellthe housebreakers!
^^^ A+. I'm an old dude who got on board with the band circa Future Games, and couldn't really picture what they were going to do without Robert Welch at the time, so this is like deja vu all over again. (I totally ignored the Burnette/Vito years.)
― No energy, only great chaos (Dan Peterson), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:26 (six years ago) link
I love Neil Finn. I love Fleetwood Mac. This is a terrible idea.
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:33 (six years ago) link
Like, Lindsay just finished an album with Christine. Why can't they make this work??
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:34 (six years ago) link
just a hunch but $$$$
― Paul Ponzi, Monday, 9 April 2018 21:42 (six years ago) link
Buckingham hates touring, always has. Remember he left in 1987 over touring?
― morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:43 (six years ago) link
then why did he agree in the first place?
also, unlike other members, he's more or less been at it all along, and judging by what I've seen hasn't lost a step
― Paul Ponzi, Monday, 9 April 2018 21:45 (six years ago) link
anyway, silver lining is that this news saves me like $200
― Paul Ponzi, Monday, 9 April 2018 21:46 (six years ago) link
this sounds kinda great imo
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:48 (six years ago) link
He must REALLY hate touring with Stevie
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:49 (six years ago) link
I mean, isn't she the reason the supposed forthcoming FM album became a Lindsay And Christine album?
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:50 (six years ago) link
This is like the last tour they'd ever do, too, surely? Hasn't John only just returned from death's door?
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 21:51 (six years ago) link

sorry dude
― mookieproof, Monday, 9 April 2018 22:00 (six years ago) link
Fleetwood clarifying things here:
We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realize that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound."
― niels, Monday, 9 April 2018 22:05 (six years ago) link
It confirms what I long suspected: Neil Finn is this quiet legend beloved of American bizzers despite the middling sales at best.
― morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 9 April 2018 22:11 (six years ago) link
Hey, I know I'm high maintenance.
― Lou Grant, the Iranian cinema of late '70s TV (stevie), Monday, 9 April 2018 22:37 (six years ago) link
I personally refuse to blow coke up your ads, sorry
― Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Monday, 9 April 2018 22:40 (six years ago) link
Ass, lol
"I mean, isn't she the reason the supposed forthcoming FM album became a Lindsay And Christine album?" Stevie has sai she doesn't want to record anymore because there is no money in it. So partly yeah.
― akm, Monday, 9 April 2018 23:18 (six years ago) link
xxposts to alfred: neil sings a beautiful harmony & plays a pretty nice guitar i mean it’s not like he’s not talented
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 9 April 2018 23:22 (six years ago) link
I adore him. I've written often about him.
― morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 9 April 2018 23:28 (six years ago) link
sorry, the middling sales tag sounded like a diss
― Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 9 April 2018 23:30 (six years ago) link
Fleetwood Mac guys clearly know Mike Campbell, but I wonder where the Neil Finn connection came from?
― Josh in Chicago, Monday, 9 April 2018 23:45 (six years ago) link
Oh, wait, Mitchell Froom produced the Buckingham/McVie album, there's the one degree.
Froom & Finn haven't worked together since three tracks for a best-of 23 years ago. It's not impossible that a bunch of still-working musicians from the '70s know another still-working musician from the '70s by reputation or in passing. Also, Mick Fleetwood played with Liam Finn in NZ two years ago yesterday.

i have no idea what the business officially thinks of neil finn, but i've long been under the impression that musicians universally adore him.
