just like the platitudinous zombified cut-and-dry voice of takes far and wide. like, Vice tone is indistinguishable from salon, huffpo, slate to me now. for all the awful things about 00's-Vice (the ironic racism--at least among hipsters--seems thoroughly out of style but the unironic racism of McInnes seems a throughline to alt-right in hindsight) the writing had a distinct voice. maybe it was ripped off from 90s zines or whatever but it was strongly associated with Vice and the foundation of the brand
on the 'paying workers slave wages' front, they've recently unionized, so, maybe something will happen with that

This means the staff gets decent salaries, and benefits; their freelance rates are at the low end of average. Each of the 3 stories I've written for them has paid $125. Bandcamp pays 3x that.

Much like what Pulp Fiction did with John Travolta in the early 90s, 2016 has thrust white nationalism back to the forefront of our collective psyche, forcing our society to—again, much like Travolta—stare continuously into its insane, twinkling, dead eyes.
thinking aout what lex was saying on the other thread about Vice (well, Noisey) being performatively woke while not actually paying writers well enough to make writing for them worthwhile, but this is more an argument of how you get what you pay for

Unity is used by everyone from individuals to professional studios that make "AAA indies" like Firewatch and Gone Home. You can make basically any kind of game with Unity, and sure, it can look a little intimidating at first. But the tutorials and community support are excellent.

At one point I ask Nikki Sixx what he would do if he had to live a completely different life. "My ultimate goal is to be a homeless street artist," Sixx says sarcastically as he gets out of the car. Before I can ask what he means, he gets pulled away, and disappears.
