2 On vs All Hands on Deck. The former is extremely hard to go past

Yeah, I actually voted Bet. It's best to go beyond the hit single if we're polling this album.

went back and listened to this today to see if it was as good as i remember thinking at the time and i ended up thinking now that it held up even better than i expected it would. i guess because i like the rest of the world have been so cold on all the music she's put out since this, i was doubting whether this album was actually worth remembering or just seemed like it at the time. but there's just tons of great songs... there's a stretch in the middle that feels a little dated to me (how many times, pretend & all hands on deck... so many chintzy synths) but otherwise great songwriting and production throughout. aquarius, bet, cold sweat, 2 on, far side of the moon, feels like vegas, thug cry, bated breath, wildfire... all these ones sound as good to me now as ever.

I love All Hands on Deck, chintzy synths and all.

I love Bet, might have ended up being my favourite on this.

Ha, How Many Times, Pretend and All Hands are three of my favs. I know people hate "Pretend" but she exudes so much personality and brightness on that one. And "All Hands on Deck" is just an immortal jam and one of her best vocal performances.
I remember thinking she probably missed an opportunity not to ride the "2 On" Mustard&B thing a little more on the album, but revisiting it I hear all these little Cali flourishes and accentuations all over the beats, I forgot about them on "Feels Like Vegas." And "Thug Cry" pulls off so much, it kind of has a proto-Anti thing going on. Sounds way better to me now than it did back then.

don't know much Tinashe other than this record but it's really ethereal and calming R N B. Not sure who else does this kind of thing as well. What other Tinashe is essential
