Anyone heard anything about further Skullflower reissues on Crucial Blast? I picked up their excellent IIIrd Gatekeeper reissue a while back, but there's been no word since...

I dunno about reissues, but there's a new LP on Noiseville with some serious black metal moves. I like it. Pschyed out, heavy black metal.

Yeah, but i did not go. And actually I haven't heard any reports, either. It was the only draw for me this year, but it sold out before I even knew tickets were on sale.

not to rub it in, but that's a pretty solid lineup

I saw black pus a couple weeks ago... thru the judicious use of triggers it's like seeing lightning bolt w/o dealing w/ lightning bolt crowds

tbh i think cold cave sucks, emeralds are boring stoners, prurient/dom is a macho creep and conrad schnitzler is old and often very boring.

i saw one of the earliest ch1ppendale solo shows when i was in high school--billed as Lord Sun Sun.

i haven't been to no fun fest since the first year (well i went for half a day the second year, all the way down in red hook.) it's such a weird macho/fratboy atmosphere.

pvd noise scene has spoiled me, not a lot of sausage factory shows

providence scene is something v different, in my experience. blame the midwest.

Back on Skullflower, I saw them a couple of months ago at Glasgow Implodes 4 (Skullflower photos) and they were truly excellent. Even a dodgy amp down they were loud, heavy, totally psychedelic, complete with heady incense burning, like being trapped in a glorious mind-transporting wind tunnel. Highest recommendation.

Anyone have the new CD, Malediction, on Second Layer? I've heard very good things about it, so am definitely going to pick it up shortly, following the wonderful GI4 experience.

Good news! I had Form Destroyer way back, but it got hideously warped by a careless cigarette burn five minutes after I bought it so I never did get to hear the thing.

but £70 is a bit over my budget though, so maybe not

weird, i was fantasizing yesterday abt having the wherewithal to reissue the 1st 5 LPs. the ones in b&w. in imagination land, they were gonna cost maybe $20 apiece. reality bites.

If you're not bothered about the extra live disc, the straightforward albums are getting reissued individually. UK Amazon has them for preorder at just over 10pound each.

...& US Amazon has them for 21bucks

was at a load records showcase a couple weeks ago and male/female performer ratio was about 50-50
