i take back the bit about it being written by an intern. i proffer instead the view that at least one of pitchfork's senior editors writes like an intern

the review's emphasis on how self-aware the artist is is embarrassing, it's basically insulting to artists in general by implying that it's unusual for an artist to be aware of the tropes/styles/aesthetic frameworks they operate in
