Nite Jewel's last full length was pretty decent (particularly like "Running Out of Time"). Opening with "Nothing But Scenery" was an odd choice though as it feels like the album loses momentum instantly.

Do all the LA artists go to the same beach up the coast to shoot their videos? I feel like I just saw one like this starring weyes blood.

^ Nice track. "Obsession" EP has grown on me; it's uniformly chill which initially turned me off, but I found it compelling in the rain today. Sublime and insular, with the highlights "Real High" and "Real Low", gorgeous tracks with alien, aquatic synth bursts.

Haven't heard the EP but will ASAP

This album is so good. I really wasn't that excited when I put it on as Liquid Cool didn't do a lot for me. I think this could be her best album.

Moodles, you mean Nite-Funk? Yeah that's a good one and indicative of where she ended up on this new one. Turns out I'm seeing her tonight after all, so stoked - one of my favourite artists

Saw her last night and she was great. Duo with a keyboardist which allows Ramona more of an open air to sing and not play keys primarily. She's a wicked musician and a great singer, particular highlights were a blistering version of "Running Out of Time" and "What Did He Say?"

Also "Obsession" EP has become the dark counterpoint to "Real High". It contains many of the same tracks but is much more sullen and comedown than the LP. "Real Low" revisits the title track from her last LP in instrumental form and is lovely.

Yeah, I would definitely take away the "think" part of my original post. This is her best work and one of the year's nicest surprises.

yeah i love her first but this is the record she was born to make. course correct of One Second of Love. felt a bit weird hearing a track in starbucks

this album is definitely not front-loaded. it seems to peak in tempo in the middle and carry that for 3 tracks, culminating in a suite of some of her finest chill songs to date. The only weak spot is "I Don't Know"

I like that song. Pretty much like the whole album, in fact.

I went to see her last week because it was only £7 and I thought that seemed like a decent deal. I had forgotten just how many truly great songs she's made over the years and it was brilliant, her live voice was flawless.
