The 40 Watt Sun singer sounds a lot like the guy from The Decemberists.

tangenttangent, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:23 (nine years ago)

It's hugely emotional. It would not be out of place on the My So-Called Life soundtrack, not that that's a bad thing

tangenttangent, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:25 (nine years ago)

He was the singer of Warning

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:25 (nine years ago)

I still need to listen to Watching from a Distance

tangenttangent, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:28 (nine years ago)

40 Watt Sun sounds like bad craft beer having a midlife crisis

imago, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:30 (nine years ago)

i really love axe to fall, it felt like their second best album (after jane doe) at the time and i think it still does

What a painting!

tangenttangent, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:57 (nine years ago)

Where it all began (for me). The painting is amazing. Romanticism is ultimately fatal.

imago, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 13:59 (nine years ago)

Think we might be finally into single figures now for Jute Gyte albums to come

Only one more! Hopefully quite high

Oh look, where it all began (with me and dissonant black metal as a whole)

imago, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 14:03 (nine years ago)

Have always dreamed of turning the jam 8/9 minutes into The Repellent Scars Of Abandon And Election into a hip-hop loop

imago, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 14:05 (nine years ago)

This Converge album is sick.

jmm, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 14:06 (nine years ago)

Now we're talking. Though I like Paracletus more because it's leaner and nastier.

ultros ultros-ghali, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 14:09 (nine years ago)

Whoa. Had expected this to be considerably higher

A pleasing comeback album.

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 14:33 (nine years ago)

I can't get along with vocals like that at all. This Yob album on the other hand is pretty great.

Saint Vitus are one of the main reasons Doom Metal exists

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:30 (nine years ago)

I really need to catch up with the later Yob albums. I like The Great Cessation. Had a good experience driving a U-Haul from Montreal with that one on. For some reason, I never bought anything later than that, but I remember liking what I heard.

Hi! I'm twice-coloured! (Sund4r), Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:31 (nine years ago)

It's going to mostly be about classical music for at least a few days, though.

and why would that be? (go on , have a free plug!)

Hi! I'm twice-coloured! (Sund4r), Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:42 (nine years ago)

Cant call this poll predictable, can you?

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:42 (nine years ago)

I feel like there's actually a decent overlap between the voting bases for this poll and the OTHER UPCOMING one.

Hi! I'm twice-coloured! (Sund4r), Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:43 (nine years ago)

When does voting end? I can definitely look at the nominations and vote for what I know/like in a totally uninformed way!

I dont think of the EP's as one release but it was officially released as this on CD so here we go.
I suppose its better than having both EP's taking up 2 places in the 100.

The bands best ever songs are on these 2 EP's so very nice to see this place so high as they tend to not be known by people.

I have my originals on vinyl :)

Cosmic Slop, Wednesday, 14 September 2016 15:51 (nine years ago)

I think at this point everyone's fed up talking about Baroness (and how they prefer Purple)
