that Canadian anti-smoking ad killed me - "you could buy so many clothes!!!". I like "Store" better now.

Sharkie, Friday, 2 September 2016 16:56 (nine years ago)

The chorus hook reminds me of something and I can’t quite place my finger on it.

Chewshabadoo, Friday, 2 September 2016 19:55 (nine years ago)

I'm just going to the store, to the store. I'm just going to the store. You might not see me anymore, anymore. I'm just going to the store.

king konta (cajunsunday), Sunday, 4 September 2016 12:12 (nine years ago)

Chewshabadoo, Tuesday, 6 September 2016 18:45 (nine years ago)

I wasn't crazy about the singles from Emotion (dunno how to make the dots), but I'm so glad I finally listened to the full album. Everything is good to great and even the singles sound better in the context of the album. "Making the Most of the Night" is such a fucking rush

Reading through this thread was the first time I realized "I Really Like You" was not a big hit in the US? I've been living in Vietnam the past couple years and all my students knew the song. Typically, the only western music that gets popular here are the artists everyone in the world knows like Swift and Bieber, so I just assumed "I Really Like You" was as huge as "Call Me Maybe". I guess whatever makes her popular in Japan makes her popular here

Vinnie, Saturday, 22 October 2016 09:50 (nine years ago)

Last I checked Spotify the spins for "I Really Like You" were about 228 mil while "Call Me Maybe" was 240 mil - surprisingly not too far from each other. Living in the US, I didn't realize she had any other songs that came close to her signature hit's popularity.

ALERT-- CRJ is coming to Hong Kong on Feb 27! Only problem its a festival, costs US$120 and i'd have to pay to see these following acts: Black Eyed Peas, Iggy Azalea, Carly Rae Jepsen, Mike Posner, Half the Animal

could you help provide me moral courage and guidance at this time

mingalaba, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 07:37 (nine years ago)

Festival sets are almost always shit, don't bother.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 13:14 (nine years ago)

Ok, that's great. I just mentioned on one of the roller-skating threads how I saw a CRJ doppleganger at the rink on Sunday. My wife and I were talking about skating jams of our respective heydays and one of mine was definitely It Takes Two.

the clip of 'cut to the feeling' that's floating around youtube is nice

ufo, Tuesday, 7 February 2017 15:49 (nine years ago)

something tells me the reasoning behind this was not in fact "this is too weird to say no to!"

she said she almost put that on Side B but gave it to that movie instead, hope it does get a proper release

ufo, Tuesday, 11 April 2017 04:37 (nine years ago)

anyone know who produced "cut the feeling"?

she's been spending so much time in recording studios in L.A. with various luminaries, i can't wait til we get rumours on next release.

mingalaba, Tuesday, 11 April 2017 07:39 (nine years ago)

What film is this for?

This is good but it kind of reminds me a bit of when Rihanna did things like 'We Found Love', which is obviously a banger but not much of 'a song'.

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Tuesday, 11 April 2017 08:43 (nine years ago)

anyone know who produced "cut the feeling"?

Sir Nolan

What film is this for?

A Canadian-French 3D animated thing called Ballerina that's being re-released in the US in August as Leap!

Fluffy Saint-Bernard (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 11 April 2017 21:11 (nine years ago)
