I'm not really feeling the Meanderthals record.

I nominated the Love You Inside Out edit for the 2008 trax poll, but none of you clowns voted for it. It IS great, but I almost wish he had stripped it down even more. I could listen to that first loop forever.

the plan b smalltown supersound cd is pretty good. pretty underwhelmed by the meanderthals track but plenty of solid old stuff like music in my mind

the feist cover is pretty good imo

Unfortunate title notwithstanding, Peter Visti's "Night Night Balearic Monster" is a worthy follow-up to "Flight Over Tokyo". Similar intense driving feel to it.

ive got this harvey mix on my computer, the one that starts with beach boys "our prayer" is that the sarcastic disco mix? it's badly labelled. And correct labelling is a big thing with me.

just need to reiterate how amazing and evocative the meanderthals album is - def the best of the recent crop of balearic albums imo. 'lasaron highway' is just perfect

I like this album too, it's on the more meditative side of this stuff, it reminds me a bit of Talk Talk which is obv a good thing.

Have you got any good recommendations for download from that emusic site?

Bit late replying to this... But - related to this thread - try the stuff on BearFunk, Tirk, Smalltown Supersound and Permanant Vacation - the one down side of emusic is that its really hard to find and share stuff. You can search by label though, which helps. You can search for specific remixers and then hope that their names are in the track titles too - lots of idjut/lindstrom etc stuff on their.

The Max Essa Album on bearfunk might be a good place to start.
