it's all much more labyrinthine than the way most of the tracks on Hairless Toys would slowly unfold. i don't enjoy it quite as much but it's definitely an incredible 2 hours or so that have come from those sessions

This album just gets better and better. Lip Service is my current favourite. I keep getting it stuck in my head.

It really does get better and better.
That bit in the middle of 'Thoughts Wasted' when the flutey noises start poppin' and the male vocal accompanies her is #1.

Serious contender for best of the year.

I seriously regret not seeing her in Chicago in November. I didn't take to Take Her Up to Monto as much as Hairless Toys, but I think I need to spend more time with it.

Love the moment on "Uninvited guests" where the devil may care slacker vibe turns into a gorgeous wide screen bridge. Roisin excels at these emotional shifts in songs, sections that change your perception of the narrative

Definitely worth prying from Katherine. roisin can do no wrong but the album version of seeing aliens I’d probably better tbh (cut by 3 mins )

It was premiered on Nemone's radio show yesterday. It sounded really good - probably the most "pop" thing either of them have done in a good while.

There's nothing arbitrary about it, surely. When they're all out that's an album. I'm sure it will be sold as such post-vinyl release.

Sounds a lot like Maurice Fulton's prior work with Kathy Diamond on Miss Diamond to You (2006).

pointless anecdote but i met kathy diamond at a carboot fair last summer. would never have recognised her but she was selling a load of household things - furniture and stuff like that - and on the ground under a table i spotted a pile of about 20 records which turned out to be all the last remaining copies of her debut 12" so i was all 'ah wait a second, is this you!?'

I always think of the first Kathy Diamond album as being very weightless and floaty in a different way to this. I love her, everything she sings on is instantly brilliant. What did she say when you realised it was her? I heard she had been very ill for a few years.

oh i just asked her some fairly boring general questions about making music cos unfortunately my knowledge of her music is about as deep as an ant's bathtub. all that was running through my mind was 'oooh I seen your name! On ILX!'
