How can Urban Cookie Collective still have gigs when Diane Charlemagne died last year? Blasphemy!

mark e, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 09:44 (nine years ago)

wones = ones

mark e, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 09:44 (nine years ago)

Moderat being billed higher than Blink 182 is pretty o_0 or do they play like arenas in that area of the world?

Vlogs from other credible bands such as Shed Seven (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 09:59 (nine years ago)

Do Blink 182 still play arenas in the other area of the world?

chap, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 10:05 (nine years ago)

Oh Christ they still do here.

Agree that if that festival was going on in the UK it would be fairy refreshing

The best UK lineup I've seen so far (by far) is Safe As Milk, but it's £150 a ticket

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 10:51 (nine years ago)

Actually it's £200 but you get a berth

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 10:51 (nine years ago)

had to sell my ticket for safe as milk :(

nxd, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 11:09 (nine years ago)

Things you were shockingly old to find out: Erasure are still together and performing! Had no idea.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 14:27 (nine years ago)

was thinking the other day about how dull all of the mid-sized British festivals (and a lot of the smaller ones as well) look this year, everything boring 6Music-friendly schmindy with some half-decent dance music thrown in if you're lucky. Is it more homogeneous than in the past? Is it something to do with lack of Glastonbury this year meaning things will sell even if very dull?

Neil S, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 14:36 (nine years ago)

glastonbury is happening this year .. its next year they are taking a break.

mark e, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 14:41 (nine years ago)

ah okay, thanks. I suppose that can be ruled out as a cause then!

Neil S, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 14:43 (nine years ago)

There are three kinds of UK festival
- Super-commercial one-dayers headlined by Bastille
- Hippie ska drug-fests headlined by Gentleman's Dub Club
- Posho adult-oriented camp-outs set in the beautifully rainy Cotswolds headlined by Joanna Newsom

Animal Collective playing a festival called "ID10T" ... please tell me that's real!

Coolio Iglesias (Turrican), Friday, 10 March 2017 03:00 (nine years ago)

Monster Energy Drink Comedy Tent

I know those words, but that sign makes no sense.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 10 March 2017 03:24 (nine years ago)

I'm sure pitchfork readers that were frozen in 2006 will be very excited if they thaw in time for Sunday.

poor Richard Ashcroft

Neil S, Friday, 10 March 2017 09:31 (nine years ago)

I love Garfunkel and Oates. Two funny women who sing funny songs.

banjoboy, Friday, 10 March 2017 09:32 (nine years ago)

I don't even remotely understand who that last festival is meant to be aimed at.

Moderat being billed higher than Blink 182 is pretty o_0 or do they play like arenas in that area of the world?

Roskilde goes on late and tends to put a DJ on after the headliner on the main stage, and I assume Blink are headlining a smaller stage.

Matt DC, Friday, 10 March 2017 09:38 (nine years ago)

sum 41 too low

nxd, Friday, 10 March 2017 10:04 (nine years ago)

Returning to that awful 1988 Reading Festival - No problem with the Friday, The Ramones followed by Iggy? c'mon.

The other days? Well, the best thing about that was that it was going bad year-by-year until that one, so It Had To Die!

Mark G, Friday, 10 March 2017 10:51 (nine years ago)

I love Garfunkel and Oates. Two funny women who sing funny songs

That's a relief, I thought it must be a new duo of Art Garfunkel and John Oates.

heaven parker (anagram), Friday, 10 March 2017 12:05 (nine years ago)

poor Richard Ashcroft

Just comeuppance imo.

That can't be real, surely!?

Coolio Iglesias (Turrican), Thursday, 16 March 2017 22:56 (nine years ago)

What happened to Badly Drawn Boy? He was supposed to be a massive star, now he's spent over a decade propping up the bottom of shitty festival lineups.

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Thursday, 16 March 2017 22:58 (nine years ago)

I mean, fucking hell, you couldn't possibly come up with a worse line-up than that. Either way, it's some expert trolling!

Coolio Iglesias (Turrican), Thursday, 16 March 2017 22:59 (nine years ago)

Last time I saw anything from BDB he was going mental and calling an audience cunts, chucking his harmonica at them

He seems really unpleasant

devvvine, Thursday, 16 March 2017 23:14 (nine years ago)

"Try to imagine your favourite bands, huge tunes, combined with a decadent Victoriana carnival, wicked fun, with a heavy dose of outrageous sideshows, and you’ll begin to get a picture of what HOPE & GLORY festival is. A festival of proper music and real anthems."

AND they've got a clay trampoline, for those who'd prefer hospital.
