i remember seeing Love and Rockets in Long Beach California during Earth Sun Moon tour? anyways, they did have The Bubblemen come out and do some songs. it was sort of mind blowing with the strobe light and all.

i remember not being in the best frame of mind at that show. we were kids drinking outside before the concert. police roll up on us and two of my friends ran. they went after them and one of my friends got arrested. we didn't know if we should go to the show or not. we did end up going but i was stressed out the whole time.

so for me The Bubblemen will always be remembered for that crazy night.

despite all that, i did not have room on my ballot for them. too much good stuff.

the juggernaut that is Earth Sun Moon.

I'm glad to be reminded of it by this poll. It inspired me to put ESM on again for the first time in a while, and I was happy at how well it holds up. I'm not sure how other people will feel about this, but in terms of general quality and general effect I don't place it all that far from the almost contemporaneous Robyn Hitchcock album Element of Light (another mostly white album cover). Both have this really nice organic classic pop psychedelia thing going on.

"Ball of Confusion" was released before Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven, but since the USA mix could not be fit on the reissue of that album, it was appended to the Express reissue. Was also on the US release of Express.

"Ball Of Confusion" was the first L&R song I heard. I used to really like it, but it's been overplayed for me. Still voted for it though.

"All In My Mind" is a great pop song that just makes me happy.

"So Alive" should be overplayed cause I lived that summer of '89 as a teen but I still like hearing it. I thought L&R fans hated it though, so I'm surprised to see it high.

Happy to see The Bubblemen place. I liked the concept of having a side project as themselves with costumes, as if they didn't have enough side projects already!
