Banks doesn't come off too great here; hard to when you are taking a satirical news story at face value. But Palin going all "if a white person had done this..." is (characteristically) repulsive.

Not trying to exonerate Banks at all--even if she "didn't mean rape," the idea of proposing sex with black men as corrective punishment is vile (and, yes, racist) in ways Banks is obviously not smart enough to understand. But it seemed like this should have all been over with the minute Banks apologized/admitted her mistake, and yet that's when Palin decided to make this her "I'm gonna strike a blow against 'reverse racism' and attacks on my family" moment.
