This is where I admit that I've never listened to a Death album before. I'm liking Individual Thought Patterns. Nice lead playing.

Seasons is pretty much the sound of Slayer realizing they could just recycle Reign In Blood and South of Heaven forever, without much thought or effort.

Well it's my favourite Mastodon album, didn't expect to see it so high. What a strange poll.

Remission is so fucking dull I can't believe people like it. Not one memorable song on it. CtS easily their second best album, close behind Leviathan.

Keep reminding yourself we're talking about the difference between 7 votes and like 4.

I'm awaiting more Voivod and any Gorguts or Incantation. Surely.

(And Thorns but I don't have high hopes.)

Uh... really? I mean I was enthusiastic about Seasons when it came out but over the years it just kind of pales in comparison to Reign and SoH and sounds like reheated third-time leftovers.

Voivod are one of those ones where I hear how good they are, and they've influenced shitloads of music I love, but they do nothing for me. Will keep trying though.

I don't get Voivod either. And Neurosis are one of the dullest bands on Earth. I saw them live twice around the time of Through Silver in Blood - once opening for Pantera and Clutch, and once headlining over Eyehategod and Dead and Gone. Yyyyyaaaaawwwwwnnnnn.

I hated Voivod for a long time until I got drunk and listened to Angel Rat of all things which somehow completed a circuit in my brain.

Neurosis however -- yeah I can't do them at all.

I don't mean to say like it's them reinventing themselves, more that I feel that RIB was a well they didn't really go back to.

Seasons had a 70s rock vibe to it on quite a few songs ("Blood Red", "Expendable Youth") that lent them a nice touch. Plus "Spirit in Black" is one of my favorite Slayer tunes and "Born of Fire" and "Hallowed Point" are favorites.

Seasons wasn't an immediate favorite of mine...took me ten years or so to reevaluate it.

I rather like Neurosis but I prefer Times of Grace so I hope that places.

Voivod I think have the potential to click with me at some point - I HAVE heard Nothingface (I think it's meant to be their weirdest?) but it hasn't stuck as yet

Last one for the evening to go out on and I'm assured by people its a great last thing at night album.... any guesses?

Honestly, some of the faster, more aggressive material on Christ Illusion has more in common with Reign in Blood than anything on Seasons does.

For me Dopethrone is one of the greatest albums ever made, period. That perfect cross section of psych and doom. Theiy nail everything in it. Their other albums are great too.

im hoping maybe a couple from my list there might get in but im assuming the vote threshold will be double figure votes and i cant see any of those getting 10 votes as some big big albums have already placed
