xxp I have the opposite problem, I find stuff like Vertebrae isn't heavy enough and just ends up being really dull like Steven Wilson tried to make folk metal album of something.

So I think I'll do what you suggested Devilock

Yeah I think Enslaved are better at prog than they are at BM but Below the Lights splits the difference nicely. 'Queen of Night' always throws me when it comes on though!

Gavin, Leeds, Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:28 (ten years ago)

Siegbran is the opposite of you guys

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:29 (ten years ago)

I can't help thinking Lynx missed out by not having a 'Vastness and Sorrow' range.

Poacher (Chinaski), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:37 (ten years ago)

Love Two Hunters but too high, probably. 'I Will Lay Down My Bones...' might justify it's placing though

they had more than one album huh

odysseus (imago), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:45 (ten years ago)

Seasons is pretty much the sound of Slayer realizing they could just recycle Reign In Blood and South of Heaven forever, without much thought or effort.

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:54 (ten years ago)

Gavin, Leeds, Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:55 (ten years ago)

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:58 (ten years ago)

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 23:58 (ten years ago)

also not having seen he top 20 which Anthrax album is likely to place? I only ever liked Sound Of White Noise

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:00 (ten years ago)

Love Dopethrone. I want to shout too low but I didnt vote so feels unfair. Would have been in my top 3 for sure. Album still crushes me. Its perfect from start to finish.

gman59, Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:01 (ten years ago)

I'd have voted for Dopethrone. Likely at least 2 other Wizards as well. This is probably going to be the highest though I'd imagine.

This is where I admit that I've never listened to a Death album before. I'm liking Individual Thought Patterns. Nice lead playing.

I don't get this. Seasons was one of its own beasts and while it had sonic similarities to previous albums I don't think RIB was one of them.

One of my favorite Slayer albs

Funeral Moon just scraped onto my ballot - mainly for 'Unholy Black Metal'.

Gavin, Leeds, Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:06 (ten years ago)

i wonder how imago would cope if 3 Pantera albums placed..

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:09 (ten years ago)

I wouldn't be too happy either to be fair but that's democracy for you

space prophet wogan (ultros ultros-ghali), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:13 (ten years ago)

I like the next album, but i am shaking my head at it even placing nevermind this high. I cant believe this beat their best album by nearly 70 places either

Huh, didn't expect this. Leviathan still to come I guess?

Gavin, Leeds, Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:17 (ten years ago)

didn't vote for this but remember rather liking it

odysseus (imago), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:18 (ten years ago)

Well it's my favourite Mastodon album, didn't expect to see it so high. What a strange poll.

space prophet wogan (ultros ultros-ghali), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:20 (ten years ago)

Remission is so fucking dull I can't believe people like it. Not one memorable song on it. CtS easily their second best album, close behind Leviathan.

the top man in the language department (誤訳侮辱), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:22 (ten years ago)

Keep reminding yourself we're talking about the difference between 7 votes and like 4.

I'm awaiting more Voivod and any Gorguts or Incantation. Surely.

(And Thorns but I don't have high hopes.)

2 more for tonight after this

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:26 (ten years ago)

Oh well there we go, then.

Devilock, Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:27 (ten years ago)

I somehow forgot to vote for Incantation. If they miss the list I will blame myself.

jmm, Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:27 (ten years ago)

Yay!

i assume a certain brazillian band

I hope it's Sarcofago!

I don't get this. Seasons was one of its own beasts and while it had sonic similarities to previous albums I don't think RIB was one of them.

Uh... really? I mean I was enthusiastic about Seasons when it came out but over the years it just kind of pales in comparison to Reign and SoH and sounds like reheated third-time leftovers.

we salute you, our half-inflated dark lord (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:32 (ten years ago)

Voivod are one of those ones where I hear how good they are, and they've influenced shitloads of music I love, but they do nothing for me. Will keep trying though.

space prophet wogan (ultros ultros-ghali), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:33 (ten years ago)

I voted for sarcofago

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Sunday, 21 February 2016 00:34 (ten years ago)

Ultros, if you've never heard Nothingface, please try that one. If you have, nm.

I don't get Voivod either. And Neurosis are one of the dullest bands on Earth. I saw them live twice around the time of Through Silver in Blood - once opening for Pantera and Clutch, and once headlining over Eyehategod and Dead and Gone. Yyyyyaaaaawwwwwnnnnn.
