moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:11 (ten years ago)

deafheaven - sunbather is gonna be top 10 isnt it?

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:14 (ten years ago)

don't ruin this moment please

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:15 (ten years ago)

is every Corrupted album as good as Garten...?

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:17 (ten years ago)

yes

Frobisher, Friday, 19 February 2016 21:20 (ten years ago)

*drools*

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:23 (ten years ago)

oh yes. though each one is different. the eps and 7" singles are different again.

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:28 (ten years ago)

you still haven't picked the best agalloch record yet! time is running out...

scott seward, Friday, 19 February 2016 21:30 (ten years ago)

Ashes... to win it all

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:32 (ten years ago)

that would be great

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:36 (ten years ago)

but no fucking way

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:39 (ten years ago)

i know, but didnt frobisher say there was stuff in the top 10 with 8 votes? yeah that could mean deafheaven or liturgy could make it or pantera or anthrax, but it could also mean a few cool things do too.

Its quite unpredictable especially since Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss already placed so low.
That was a genuine shock.

I know varg is an evil murdering nazi cunt and i refuse to buy his stuff as i dont want to give him money but the music was made before that and has nothing racist in it and was top 10 in the all-time metal poll a few years back.
His music is popular on ilx even if he isnt see also wagner, pantera and other stuff.

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 21:59 (ten years ago)

didn't every liturgy album that anyone cares about place already

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:00 (ten years ago)

Im guessing another burzum may turn up soon. Would be lols if it was #50.
Cant beat a controversial placing to start off a top 50

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:00 (ten years ago)

last years hasnt yet, brad

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:01 (ten years ago)

like i said

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:01 (ten years ago)

hah, it has a few high profile fans on ilm

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:03 (ten years ago)

Yeah I didn't remember The Ark Work placing at all in the EOY poll but it turns out it was super high, top 15 or something insane like that.

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:12 (ten years ago)

and things only need 4 or 5 votes atm to make it

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:15 (ten years ago)

That Pleasure To Kill cover never made sense to me. Why would a bunch of skeletons want to kill a horned demon?

Siegbran, Friday, 19 February 2016 22:28 (ten years ago)

The Ark Work wasn't nominated. I know this coz it'd have made my top 20. Consider yourselves spared

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:30 (ten years ago)

ooooh

(not that I have anything against this album)

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:31 (ten years ago)

(but I wouldn't want to see it on this list)

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:33 (ten years ago)

I deliberately avoided nominating anything for reasons of wanting to stay a little on-message

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:37 (ten years ago)

Well, almost anything

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 22:38 (ten years ago)

Catching up after attending a wake today (metal!), but will chime in to say Pleasure to Kill is great, one of those older records that still sounds rabid.. Weirdest tom production ever tho!

Dominique, Friday, 19 February 2016 22:40 (ten years ago)

Those German thrash records have held up very well.

Siegbran, Friday, 19 February 2016 22:53 (ten years ago)

better than some u.s. stuff that i won't mention by name out of respect for the families.

scott seward, Friday, 19 February 2016 23:05 (ten years ago)

I'm starting to realise Blind by Corrosion of Conformity isn't going to place, which is, frankly, an OUTRAGE.

Poacher (Chinaski), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:06 (ten years ago)

you mean Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica & Megadeth, Scott?

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:12 (ten years ago)

Best discovery of the poll so far has been Krallice - Years Past Matter. How in the fuck had I not heard that before? You've all let me down (until now)

Just reliving Thantifaxath now. The album is a little uneven but my fucking WORD the two songs Gasping In Darkness and Panic Becomes Despair are just…leagues beyond. I think they'll probably make a front-to-back masterpiece soon

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:22 (ten years ago)

I've been hyping Years Past Matter since it was released!

Hi! I'm twice-coloured! (Sund4r), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:26 (ten years ago)

Clearly not enough! Anyway, it worked eventually. You're in my crew now, you know that right

(gf says "shouldn't that be the other way around")

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:30 (ten years ago)

why isnt she commenting here? you dont need to have voted to join in the chat

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:35 (ten years ago)

I am quietly absorbing all the metal.

tangenttangent, Friday, 19 February 2016 23:41 (ten years ago)

I'll be more vocal (as a primary character) now that a hell-week has ended. Need to catch up!

tangenttangent, Friday, 19 February 2016 23:44 (ten years ago)

Hell-week is never over when there's a metal poll running \m/

odysseus (imago), Friday, 19 February 2016 23:49 (ten years ago)

hell-week is running a poll

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 00:10 (ten years ago)

Listening to Summoning. I feel these two Youtube comments neatly summarise them and their fans

Mauricio M. C. (psicopompo)1 year ago
'A distant flame before the sun': that song is an authentic piece of art.

OmegAtlAnt1 year ago
the noblest 9 minutes of the album

odysseus (imago), Saturday, 20 February 2016 00:15 (ten years ago)

They're not bad at all though. I feel like A Forest Of Stars owe them a bit

odysseus (imago), Saturday, 20 February 2016 00:18 (ten years ago)

In fact this sounds a bit like riding a horse through space

odysseus (imago), Saturday, 20 February 2016 00:25 (ten years ago)

That Yob EP....if you ever find yourself feeling like the ass end of a donkey, that shit is cathartic.

gaz coombes? yo he don't got NUTHIN ta prove! (Neanderthal), Saturday, 20 February 2016 01:17 (ten years ago)

We should all aspire to have a noblest nine minutes.

Devilock, Saturday, 20 February 2016 01:19 (ten years ago)

And ride a horse through space.

Siegbran, Saturday, 20 February 2016 07:16 (ten years ago)

There is no excuse for not listening to Krallice sooner.

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Saturday, 20 February 2016 07:38 (ten years ago)

In fact this sounds a bit like riding a horse through space

this is a fine description of summoning

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Saturday, 20 February 2016 07:46 (ten years ago)

imago doesnt already love Summoning?

The Call Of Cthulow (Cosmic Slop), Saturday, 20 February 2016 12:19 (ten years ago)

I've always avoided Summoning and other bands like that because I'm scared I'll black out half way through and wake up LARPing

space prophet wogan (ultros ultros-ghali), Saturday, 20 February 2016 12:51 (ten years ago)

And I'm afraid that a lot of albums that were released in the last couple of years have placed partially because of me I reckon; I couldn't care less about historical significance really so I voted for the extreme metal albums I enjoy the most.

Can't blame me for Deafheaven though, I hate them for reasons nothing to do with metal elitism, more to do with the fact that they're embarassingly poor
