oh hell yeah. This was in my top 5, and IMO is the best thing Sodom ever did (with their follow up full-length being a close second). Raw, simple, not really dated at all, especially when you consider how many bands still go for that old school black metal sound

does anyone really listen to that Sigh album anymore? it would make me too tired to play it now.

i probably listen to meshuggah more now than i did when those albums listed came out. i'm into precision riffs these days.

I didn't care for Death at the time but I grew to really like them. So much better than the brutal DM you get now IMO

Yeah when it comes to DM, Death is one of my favorites. Corrupted as well.

I love Death's final albums - Human, Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic and to a lesser degree The Sound of Perseverance. Don't care about anything before that. I wrote about them back in 2011.

That Ambergris EP is a mystery to me. I couldn't find much about it searching online.

Corrupted arent death metal tho. funeral doom maybe. but they cover so many styles you cant really pigeonhole them. I hope there's more Corrupted and Death to come.

thanks for that Phil -- I need to spend more time with Death in general. I want to like them, and I do listen to Scream Bloody Gore, but I guess I prefer stuff like either earlier Possessed or later Autopsy.

Wish I'd voted on this! I've recently dug out some old death metal vinyl and Human still sounds unbelievable. Fwiw if push came to shove I'd probably have voted for Clandestine. Currently I'd quite happily settle for Garten der Unbewusstheit.

I love Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance and haven't listened to the others enough. "Crystal Mountain" is the most amazing song.

Im worrying tho that since so much great stuff is appearing so low down that the top 10 will be an anti climax of metallica,slayer,megadeth,pantera,anthrax, sepultura and bill magill moaning there's no black sabbath

I have no idea how this poll will go. Agreed, some really great stuff has already appeared, and I didn't do much campaigning for my faves, so not even sure they will place at all, much less near the top.
