you didn't vote?

I think I did, I don't remember tbh.

moans and feedback (Dinsdale), Monday, 15 February 2016 19:15 (ten years ago)

Hey, this Nocturnus album is quite good, I've been digging a lot of slightly weird 90s dm lately and this hits the spot

space prophet wogan (ultros ultros-ghali), Monday, 15 February 2016 19:20 (ten years ago)

xpost

Two bands that have accumulated so much (unfair) derision that their brilliance gets lost. Chaosphere is still one of the most unique things I've ever heard, it just swarms around you like tsetse flies; and Nemesis Divina, somewhat apart from the rest of Satyricon's discography, deserves to be up there with the other Norwegian monuments. Two very different albums that achieved two very different kinds of perfection.

Devilock, Monday, 15 February 2016 19:21 (ten years ago)

another xpost: weird scifi death metal appears to be the current (and rising) dm trend, so you're in luck!

xpost: yeah so I've noticed, a lot of Timeghoul/Demilich worship around these days. Also I don't like to "blame" Meshuggah for what endless droves of clean-shaven dudebros with 7 strings are doing now.

Cosmic Slop, Monday, 15 February 2016 19:31 (ten years ago)

dunno this one. Thrash?

Cosmic Slop, Monday, 15 February 2016 19:37 (ten years ago)

Crazy prog/tech thrash, sort of where Spiral Architect got some of their sound from. They just put out a 3 song EP at the end of last year. Their debut album had on vox the guy who would go on to Dangerous Toys.

Cosmic Slop, Monday, 15 February 2016 19:41 (ten years ago)

I will never grow tired of Necrolord album covers. Also that one has great music, not as heavy metal inflected as Storm of the Light's Bane but in the same region.

Somehow I forgot to vote for City. That's just wrong; it's one of the best things ever.

I never could get into Atheist, for some reason. Strange, because I probably love most of the bands that list them as an influence.

Devilock, Monday, 15 February 2016 20:48 (ten years ago)

I forgot too I think. tho tbh I have no recollection of my ballot as it was so long ago

Frobisher, Monday, 15 February 2016 22:02 (ten years ago)

a tie?

Cosmic Slop, Monday, 15 February 2016 22:04 (ten years ago)

It's not really intended as an actual playlist to listen to, more as an easy list to pick an album and hear it in one click. So the songs don't really matter. That being said I've just changed that particular song just in case people do use this as an playlist

(also just found out that, unlike the Web interface, Spotify's actual application won't show you the album from which the track has been taken, so maybe my idea was stupid to begin with. You can still click the "..." thing for the track and select Show Album though)
